Note: No glasses are to be permitted for A-2 category. Candidates who have undergone Lasik surgery or any other surgical procedure to correct the refractory error are not eligible for the post having Medical Standards A2, A3, B1, and B2.

RRB Group D Eye Test
After going through the required medical standards, let us now move to the basic definitions of 6/6, 6/9, 6/12 and 6/18 vision. A candidate is asked to read a particular group of letters placed on a chart (Snellen Chart).
- If a candidate reads out all the letters from a distance of 6 meters, he/she has normal 6/6 eye vision.
- If you have 6/9 eye vision, it means you are reading letters from 6 meters whereas a normal eye can read those letters from a distance of 9 meters.
- If you have 6/12 eye vision, it means you are reading letters from 6 meters whereas a normal eye can read those letters from a distance of 12 meters.
- If you have 6/18 eye vision, it means you are reading letters from 6 meters whereas a normal eye can read those letters from a distance of 18 meters.
