Age and educational attainment are the two primary criteria for RBI Assistant eligibility 2023. To qualify, applicants must be between the ages of 20 and 28 and hold a graduate degree with a minimum cumulative GPA of 50%. The RBI Assistant eligibility is based on a few important factors described below.

RBI Assistant Age Limit

RBI Assistant age limit criteria include the minimum and maximum age limit. Candidates not falling within the age limit range will not be allowed to participate in the RBI Assistant selection process.

  • The minimum age of the RBI Assistant should be 20 years, and the maximum age should be 28 years.
  • This eligibility means that the candidate should not be born earlier than 2 December 1993 and not later than 1 December 2001 in which both the dates are inclusive.
  • Only if the candidate is born in between the years mentioned above, then only he/she is eligible to apply for RBI Assistant 2023 exam.

There is also a relaxation in the upper age limit for RBI Assistant exam based on the following:

NOTE: Cumulative Age Relaxation will not be available either under the above items or in combination with any other items. Candidates seeking age relaxation need to submit copies of the necessary certificate(s) at the time of the interview.

RBI Assistant Educational Qualification

Candidates must first ensure the RBI Assistant qualification requirements before going into the steps of applying for the exam. There are different aspects of educational qualification for an RBI Assistant eligibility that the candidate needs to go through in detail.

  • Candidate is supposed to have at least a Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline as on 1 December 2022 with a minimum of 50% marks (pass class for SC/ST/PWD candidates) in the aggregate and the knowledge of word processing on Personal Computer (PC).
  • Suppose a candidate belongs to the Ex-servicemen category (except dependents of ex-servicemen). In that case, he/she should either be a graduate from a recognized University or should have passed the matriculation or its equivalent examination of the Armed Forces and rendered at least 15 years of defence service.
  • Candidates applying for a post in a recruiting office should be proficient in the language (i.e. know to read, write, speak and understand the language) of the state or any of the states he/she is applying from.
  • Candidates in the final semester/year of graduation can also apply provisionally subject to the condition that, if called for an interview/joining, they will have to produce proof of having passed the Graduation Examination on or before 1 December 2022.

RBI Assistant Eligibility - Nationality

Under RBI Assistant eligibility 2023, only Indian nationals are eligible to apply for the post. This is one of the benefits for the students as the competition is not at an international level. The most important factor in submitting an application for the exam is nationality requirements. The applicant must be an Indian national. As evidence of their nationality, candidates must present documents like Aadhar cards and PAN cards.

RBI Assistant Eligibility - Number of Attempts

The number of attempts is another RBI Assistant eligibility criteria which are considered in most Banking exams. However, most of the exams don't support this criterion to apply for the exam as the RBI Assistant exam is of Clerk level, so the total number of attempts is not counted for this post. The authority has not defined any fixed number of attempts for this.

  • Candidates who fall under the non-creamy layer but are in the OBC category will not be counted as OBC category candidates. They must designate UR as their category.
  • OBC, SC, and ST are reserved categories that fall under the non-creamy layer and may compete with unreserved candidates if there are vacancies in those categories.
