IBPS SO Eligibility Criteria - Nationality

  • Candidate should hold citizenship of India.

  • Candidate subjected to Nepal.
  • A person from Tibet, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, East Africa, Burma, Kenya, and Uganda came to India for permanent residence before 1 January 1962, along with a certificate from the Government of India for eligibility.

IBPS SO Age Limit

Aspirants must check the IBPS SO Age limit before filling out the application. Candidates need to follow the age limit criteria strictly. They must be a minimum of 20 years or a maximum of 30 years of age as of November 26, 2022. IBPS has also mentioned some age relaxation for various categories. IBPS SO Law officer Eligibility

A candidate must have a qualified LLB or Bachelor’s in Law and be enrolled as an advocate with Bar Council.

IBPS SO Marketing Officer Eligibility

The candidate should be a graduate along with one of the following:

  • 2 years of full-time PGDBA /PGDBM/ PGPM/ PGDM with marketing as a specialized subject
  • 2 years of full-time MMS (Marketing)
  • 2 years of full-time MBA in Marketing

IBPS SO I.T Officer Eligibility

  • 4 years degree in engineering & technology, or
  • Post Graduation in CS/CA/IT/EE/EC// Electronics & Telecommunications/ Electronics & Instrumentation, or
  • Graduate having passed DOEACC ‘B’ level.
  • The candidate should have passed DOEACC ‘B’ level along with graduation.

IBPS SO Rahbhasha Adhikari Eligibility

  • Post Graduation Degree in Sanskrit with English & Hindi as core subjects, or
  • Post Graduation Degree in Hindi with English as a core subject.

HR/Personnel Officer IBPS SO Eligibility

  • Graduate along with 2 Years Full-time Post Graduation degree, or
  • 2 Years Full-time Post Graduation Diploma in Personnel Management/HR/HRD/ Industrial Relations/ Social Work /Labour Law.

IBPS SO Eligibility - Important Points

In the case of dual specializations, one of the fields of specialization should be in the field prescribed. In the case of major/ minor specializations, major specialization should be in the stream prescribed. Candidates having a PG Degree (MMS or MBA)/PG Diploma with more than two specializations are not eligible to apply. Some other points to be considered for IBPS SO eligibility are provided below.

  • Candidates should ensure that their educational qualifications shall be as per the prescribed educational qualifications mentioned in the advertisement and that they fulfil the above eligibility criteria. No equivalent educational qualification shall be considered eligible by IBPS or Participating Organisations.
  • For posts other than IT Officer Scale I: Candidates should have a Certificate/ Diploma/ Degree in computer operations/ Language/ should have studied Computer / Information Technology as one of the subjects in the High School/ College/ Institute.

Calculation of Percentage for IBPS SO Eligibility

The notification of the IBPS SO exam does not mention any minimum percentage requirement for any particular post to apply online for this exam.

  • The percentage marks shall be arrived at by dividing the total marks obtained by the candidate in all the subjects in all semester(s)/year(s) by aggregate maximum marks (in all the subjects irrespective of honours / optional/additional optional subject, if any) multiplied by 100.
  • This will apply to universities where Class / Grade is decided based on Honours marks only.
  • The fraction of percentage so arrived will be ignored, i.e., 59.99% will be treated as less than 60%, and 54.99% will be treated as less than 55%.

IBPS SO Eligibility - EWS Category

According to the IBPS SO Eligibility, an EWS candidate is entitled to a 10% reservation benefit. Any of the following assets will prevent a person from benefiting from the EWS category reservation.

  • At least 5 acres of agricultural land.
  • 1000 square feet or more of residential space.
  • A residential lot in municipalities measuring at least 100 square yards.
  • A residential site of 200 square yards or more outside the notified municipalities.

At the time of document verification and the interview phase, candidates who wish to take advantage of the EWS reservation for the IBPS SO Selection Process must present an Income and Asset Certificate issued by a Competent Authority in the required format.

IBPS SO Eligibility Criteria - PwD Category

Under section 34 of "The Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016," individuals with qualifying disabilities are eligible for reservation in accordance with Government of India regulations. According to the Act, the following categories of disabilities are eligible for a reservation:

  • Hard of hearing and deaf
  • Autism, mental disease, blindness, low eyesight, intellectual handicap, and some learning disabilities.
  • Those with locomotor impairments, such as those who have recovered from leprosy, cerebral palsy, dwarfism, muscular dystrophy, and acid attack victims.

  • Candidates must meet all of the IBPS SO eligibility to appear in the exam. The exam's eligibility states that candidates must have a bachelor's degree or equivalent in the field they are interested in from any recognized university. The age limit for an IBPS SO is 30 years.

  • The institute prescribes the IBPS SO age limit in the notification. The UR category candidates should have aged 20-30 years. Age relaxation is applicable as per the government norms for different categories.

  • No, final-year candidates are not eligible for IBPS SO. Candidates with a degree will only be eligible to appear in the examination. Candidates must check the IBPS SO syllabus before starting their preparation.

  • There are no percentage requirements as given in the IBPS SO eligibility. Aspirants who have the desired graduation degree for the given post are eligible to fill the application form irrespective of their percentage.
