The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has released the SSC MTS notification 2023, aiming to fill 1558 vacancies for Multitasking Staff and Havaldar in CBIC & CBN. It is important to know that there were around 12523 vacancies in the previous SSC MTS notification 2022. SSC MTS is a national-level examination conducted annually to recruit candidates for the post of Multitasking Staff in various central government departments, ministries, and offices. What is SSC MTS?

SSC MTS stands for Staff Selection Commission Multitasking Staff. It is a national-level exam that is conducted in two stages: Computer-based test and Physical Efficiency Test (only for Havaldar post). After clearing these stages, the candidate will get selected for General Central Service Group ‘C’ Non-Gazetted, Non-Ministerial posts in various Central Government Ministries/Departments/Offices of the Government of India. Every candidate who completes the registration process for SSC MTS 2023 can download the admit card from the official website. It is released 10 days prior to the exam date for all 9 regions: KKR, SR, ER, NER, NR, NWR, MPR, WR, and CR. SSC MTS Exam Pattern

This year, SSC has changed the SSC MTS exam pattern canceling Paper 2 (Descriptive Paper). There will be only one exam i.e Computer-based Test. The paper pattern of SSC MTS exam has been changed to 90 questions which were earlier 100 questions. The exam is now divided into two sessions with two modules each. The time duration for each module is 45 minutes, making the total duration of the exam 90 minutes. There will be PET/PST for the post of Havaldar in CBIC and CBN.

SSC MTS Paper 1: It will be an objective type CBT test consisting of 90 questions and 2 sessions with 2 modules each. The first session includes Numerical & Mathematical Ability and Reasoning Ability & Problem-Solving. The second session will include General Awareness and English Language and Comprehension. Each question will carry a weightage of 3 marks and 1 mark will be deducted for every wrong answer marked in Session 2 by the candidate.

One of the questions that every aspirant has is- 'How much SSC MTS monthly salary is?'. The Commission conducts SSC MTS in two tiers: CBT and Physical Efficiency Test. While Tier 1 is conducted for all posts, Physical Efficiency Test (PET) is held for Havaldar post only.

  • The initial basic pay of SSC MTS is Rs 18000. After including all the allowances, the monthly in-hand salary of SSC Multitasking Staff is Rs 25,704. However, the salary of SSC MTS depends on the cities where employees are transferred.

  • Total 1558 SSC MTS 2023 vacancy has been tentatively released along with the official SSC MTS notification PDF. 1198 vacancies have been released for the Multitasking staff.
