UKPSC syllabus is released by the Uttarakhand Public Service Commission, the exam organizing body. The Uttrakhand PCS syllabus is released for the Uttarakhand Combined State Civil/ Upper PCS exam that is conducted every year for entry-level posts in the Uttarakhand Civil Services. UKPSC Syllabus 2023

UKPSC syllabus 2023 is divided as per the selection process for the exam: Prelims and Mains. Prelims is the first stage of the recruitment process and is qualifying in nature. Only those candidates who are able to clear the UKPSC Prelims qualifying cut off will be allowed to appear for the Mains exam. After the Mains is successfully completed, the candidates have to appear for the interview.

The Freedom Struggle – its various stages and important contributors/ contributions from different parts of the country

Modern Indian history from about the middle of the eighteenth century until the present- significant events, personalities, issues

Salient features of Indian Society

Diversity of India Role of women and women’s organization, population and associated issues, poverty and developmental issues, urbanization, their problems, and their remedies

Effects of globalization on Indian society Social empowerment, communalism, regionalism & secularism

UKPSC Prelims

The first round of the selection process is the Preliminary exam. The exam has two papers viz., General Studies and General Aptitude. Each paper is of 150 marks. The duration of the exam is 2 hours. The qualified candidates will appear for the Mains exam.

The second stage of the selection process is the Mains exam. This is the merit-deciding stage of the UKPSC exam. Those who score more marks than the prelims cutoff are summoned for the Uttarakhand PCS mains exam. The mains exam has 7 papers. Candidates will get 3 hours to attempt each paper.
