IBPS Clerk Eligibility 2021

IBPS Clerk Eligibility Criteria 2021: With the announcement of the official notification, many students might be searching for the IBPS Clerk eligibility criteria. So here are the eligibility criteria for the IBPS Clerk Exam 2021 that would be conducted in August 2021.

You can go through the age limit (with age relaxation), educational qualification eligibility, and graduation percentage required for appearing in IBPS Clerk 2021 exam this year in this post. Candidates not fulfilling the IBPS Clerk eligibility norms will not be allowed to participate in the recruitment process.

The online registration of the IBPS Clerk has been activated from 07th Oct till 27th Oct 2021 as per the notification and thus it becomes important that you are well aware of the eligibility criteria before applying online. The Educational qualification and age-based eligibility criteria of IBPS Clerk 2021 shared below will help you understand, if you are eligible to apply for this exam or not. 

IBPS Clerk 2021 Nationality

To participate in the IBPS Clerk 2021 recruitment candidates need to fulfill the nationality criteria as shared below:

A candidate must be either -

(i) a Citizen of India or
(ii) a subject of Nepal or
(iii) a subject of Bhutan or
(iv) a Tibetan Refugee who came over to India before 1st January 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India or
(v) a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania (formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India, provided that a candidate belonging to categories (ii), (iii), (iv) &
(v) above shall be a person in whose favour a certificate of eligibility has been issued by the Government of India. 

IBPS Clerk 2021 Age Limit Criteria

  • To fulfill the eligibility criteria, for IBPS Clerk Exam 2021, a candidate must be minimum of 20 years and maximum of 28 years old, as on 01/07/2021.
  • This basically means that any candidate born earlier than 02/09/1993 and later than 01/09/2001 does not pass the IBPS clerk eligibility criteria to appear for this exam, where both the above-mentioned dates are inclusive while calculating age.

IBPS Clerk Age Relaxation

Candidates can also seek relaxation for the upper age limit, subject to the following -

Widows, Divorced women and women legally separated from their husbands who have not remarried

Persons With Disabilities

Ex-Servicemen or Disabled Ex-Servicemen

Eligible candidates can seek relaxation for (actual period of service rendered in the defense forces + 3 years (8 years for Disabled Ex-Servicemen belonging to SC/ST)) period. However, this relaxation is subject to a maximum age limit of 50 years

IBPS Clerk 2021 Educational Qualification

  • IBPS Clerk Degree Eligibility: In order to pass the IBPS Clerk eligibility criteria 2021, a candidate should have a degree (Graduation) in any discipline from a Government of India recognized college/ university, as on 01/08/2021. Candidates having any equivalent qualification that is recognized by Central Government are also eligible to apply.
  • Other Requirements: Computer Literacy is a must. Candidate must possess operating as well as working knowledge of Computer System. For this, candidates should have followed -
    (a) Degree/ Diploma/ Certificate in Computer Operations/ Language
    Or
    (b) Should have studied Computer/ Information Technology as one of the subjects in High School/ Institute/ College.
  • Proficiency in Local Language: Candidates should also be proficient in the language of the state from which they are applying. This means that the candidates should know how to read, write and speak the official language of the state of union territory from which they are applying.
  • In cases where the college/ university provides CGPA or OGPA, candidates need to convert the same into the percentage, up to 2 places of decimal, and accordingly fill it in the application form. The selected candidates are also required to produce a certificate, mentioning the university norms for the grade to percentage conversion as well as the percentage of marks that the student has secured, and it should be signed by an appropriate authority.
  • For candidates from colleges/ universities where a web certificate is released or the result is published online, then candidates must produce a relevant document, signed by the appropriate authority, in original, with clear mention of the candidate’s date of passing.
