WBCS notification 2023 was released by the West Bengal Public Service Commission (WBPSC) on 22nd February 2023. Aspirants preparing for the Group A, B, and C posts of the West Bengal government could apply for the posts from 28th February to 21st March 2023. The exam process involves three stages: Prelims, Mains, and Interview. Based on candidates' performance, the posts are allocated to candidates.

The WBCS exam is conducted in offline mode, which is also known as the 'pen-paper mode'. The selected candidates will appear for the Mains exam with 6 papers. Qualified candidates have to appear for the Interview to complete the selection process. WBCS 2023

Candidates who were eagerly waiting for the notification for WBCS 2023 can now start their exam preparation. The Prelims exam is expected to happen in the month of June, therefore candidates should be on their toes by now and start their exam preparation with proper planning. Prelims will be followed by Mains and finally an Interview.

WBPSC will announce the WBCS exam date 2023 soon. As per the official notification the Preliminary exam is expected to be held in June 2023. What is WBCS Exam?

The West Bengal State Public Service Commission conducts WBCS examinations to recruit eligible candidates for Grade A, B, C, and D posts. All applications for the exam are to be submitted online at the official portal only. As per the notification, the exam conducting body will conduct the WBCS 2023 Exam in three stages.

WBCS Eligibility Criteria 2023

WBCS eligibility is the minimum requirement to be possessed by the applicant for the West Bengal Civil Service Exam. Required criteria were announced in the official notification. Note that ineligibility found in later stages will lead to their application cancellation.

It is advisable that candidates check their eligibility before submitting the online application form. As per the WBCS eligibility criteria, candidates should fulfill the age limit, education, and nationality criteria mentioned below.

Nationality

According to the WBCS eligibility criteria 2023, the candidate must be an Indian Citizen.

WBCS Age Limit

WBPSC has notified the category-wise WBCS age limit for the exam which is mentioned below. Keep in mind that, as a General candidate, aspirants should not be younger than 21 years and older than 36 years for Groups A, C, and D posts. Also, note that applicants who belong to another state will be treated as General applicants.

WBCS Educational Qualification

Candidates should have a Bachelor's degree from a UGC-recognized university to be eligible for the WBCS exam. Also, having proficiency in the Bengali Language will be an advantage. However, this is not mandatory for candidates who have a Nepali mother tongue.

How to Apply Online for the WBCS 2023?

  • Visit the official website and register using a valid email id and phone number.
  • After validation with an OTP, fill out the complete WBCS Application Form 2023 with the correct information.

The WBCS application fee is a non-refundable amount for all the categories. However, SC/ST candidates of WB State and Persons with disabilities (40% and above) having a physical disability are not required to pay any WBCS application fee. WBCS 2023 Exam Pattern

West Bengal Public Service Commission has notified the WBCS exam pattern 2023 in the official notification. As mentioned in the notification, there will be 3 stages for the exam. All of them are mentioned below:

WBCS Prelims 2023 exam is a screening test to shortlist candidates for the WBCS Mains Exam. It is the first written test, and all candidates must appear in this exam. The WBCS Prelims stage has just 1 paper. All the questions will be Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs).
