SSC GD Constable 2021 Syllabus

SSC GD Constable Syllabus 2021: Staff Selection Commission (SSC) conducts the General Duty (GD) Constable examination for recruitment of 25271 vacancies in various departments of Central Government including Secretariat Security Force (SSF), Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), National Investigation Agency (NIA), Border Security Force (BSF), Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB), Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), Indo Tibetan Border Police Force (ITBP), and Rifleman in Assam Rifles. Phase 1 of the SSC GD Constable exam comprises 4 subjects namely General Intelligence & Reasoning, Elementary Mathematics, English Language & General Awareness. To prepare effectively for the exam, it is important to have a deeper understanding of the SSC GD Constable syllabus and exam pattern.

SSC GD Exam Pattern 2021

SSC GD Constable recruitment process comprises of three phases which are Computer Based Examination (Phase 1), Physical Efficiency Test (PET) (Phase 2), Detailed Medical Examination (DME) & Document Verification (DV) (Phase 3). The below graph highlights the different phases of the SSC GD Constable Exam:

SSC GD Constable 2021 Computer Based Examination (CBE) Pattern

Phase 1/ Tier 1 of the SSC GD Constable Exam comprises of 4 subjects which are General Intelligence and Reasoning, Elementary Mathematics, General Knowledge and General Awareness and English/ Hindi. Here are some important points on the Phase 1/ Tier 1 exam pattern:

  • Phase 1/ Tier 1 consists of 100 questions from 4 different subjects
  • All questions are objective type with 4 different options
  • Candidates will get 1 mark for each correct answer and - 0.25 marks for each wrong answer
  • Candidates will get 90 minutes for the complete test
  • The questions and options will be given in both English and Hindi Language

SSC GD Constable Physical Standard Test

The candidates who qualify for the written test are called to appear for the physical standard test (PST). The physical standards of all the selected male and female candidates are tested. There are three parameters for testing the physical standards of the candidates that include, height, chest (for male candidates) and weight.

SSC GD Constable Physical Efficiency Test

The candidates who clear the PST will be called for the Physical Efficiency Test (PET). This aims to test the endurance and fitness level of the male and female candidates through a race. The details of the SSC GD PET are as follows.

  • Pregnant women are disqualified from taking the SSC GD PET.
  • Ex-servicemen are exempted from taking the PET.
  • However, the Ex-servicemen have to appear for the Detailed Medical Examination (DME).

All the candidates who have qualified the CBE, PET, and PST will be called for a detailed medical examination (DME).

  • The medical test or DME is done by the medical board that is constituted by the CAPFs.
  • The SSC GD DME aims to test the physical fitness and medical fitness of the candidates by examining their vision.
  • For right-handed persons, the right eye is a better eye and vice versa.
