What is CAPF Exam?

The CAPF exam is conducted yearly for the post of Assistant Commandant (AC). Its full form is the Central Armed Police Forces. This exam is prestigious, and many young people go for this as it guarantees a reputed career in the armed forces. It is the uniform nomenclature of five security forces in India under the authority of the Ministry of Home Affairs. CAPF Eligibility

CAPF exam eligibility for Assistant Commandant is decided by UPSC and has specific criteria that candidates must adhere to. Both male and female candidates can fill out the CAPF Assistant Commandant Exam application form.   • Physical Eligibility: Both male and female candidates have different physical standards set by the officials. Men should have a minimum height of 165 cm and a weight of 50 kg, while females should have a minimum height of 157 cm and a weight of 46 kg.
  • Educational Qualification: The candidate must graduate in any discipline from a recognized university.

CAPF AC Age Limit

As per the CAPF Age Limit Criteria, the age of the candidate must not be less than 20 years and must not be more than 25 years. The upper age limit is provided with certain relaxations for reserved categories. Those belonging to the OBC category get an age relaxation of 3 years and for SC/ST, Ex-Servicemen Commissioned Officer, Jammu and Kashmir residents, and Civilian Central Government servants, there is a relaxation of 5 years over the upper age limit.

CAPF AC Syllabus for Paper 2

Interview/Personality Test:

Candidates declared qualified in the Medical Standard Tests will be called upon by the Union Public Service Commission to conduct an interview/personality test which is the final stage of the UPSC CAPF AC exam 2023. Candidates who are declared medically unfit but permitted to appear before a "Review Medical Board" will be called for CAPF interview/personality tests. The total weightage for the Personality Test is 150 marks.

Final Merit List: The final merit list drawn will be on the basis of marks obtained by candidates in the written examination and Interview.

UPSC CAPF AC Final Selection

The final selection for candidates who take the CAPF exam is done based on four stages. Candidates have to first clear the objective-type and written exam. Based on their performances in these exams and if they pass the cut-off, they are then selected for the Physical and Medical tests. These exams and tests are qualifying in nature.

Candidates who are found to be physically and medically fit are then selected for the Personality Round i.e. the Interview. The salary of Assistant Commandant is ₹56,100 - ₹1,77,500 as per Pay Band - 3, while the salary of Senior Commandant is ₹1,23,000 - ₹2,15,900/- as per Pay Band 4.
