Detailed SSC CHSL Eligibility 2021

SSC CHSL Eligibility 2021: Candidates who wish to apply for the SSC CHSL Exam must check the detailed SSC CHSL eligibility criteria. The eligibility criteria for SSC CHSL Exam is released with the official notification. The eligibility criteria for SSC CHSL 2021 can be divided into three categories:

1. Nationality of applicants

2. The age limit of the applicants

3. Educational Qualification

SSC CHSL Eligibility: Nationality / Citizenship

  • A candidate must be either-
  • Citizen of India/Nepal/Bhutan 
  • A Tibetan refugee who came over to India, before the 1st January 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India, or
  • A person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda,
  • the United Republic of Tanzania(Formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.

SSC CHSL Eligibility: Age Limit

The Age limit for SSC CHSL Exam is calculated As on 01st January 2021

  • Min Age is 18 Years
  • Max Age is 27 Years

Candidate should note that the Date of  Birth as recorded in the Matriculation/Secondary Examination Certificate or an equivalent certificate available on the date of submission of application will only be accepted by SSC.

SSC CHSL Eligibility: Educational Qualification

The Educational Qualification for the SSC CHSL Exam 2020-21 is mentioned below, 

Educational Qualification

In order to be eligible for SSC CHSL Exam, you must have passed 12th Standard or equivalent examination from a recognized Board or University on or before 01st January 2020.

Note: For Data Entry Operator in the Office of Comptroller and Auditor General of India (C&AG): 12th Standard pass in Science stream with Mathematics as a subject from a recognized Board or equivalent.

If the applicant possesses Diploma/ Certificate/ Degree obtained through open Universities or Distance Education Mode, then that must be recognized by the University Grants Commission

Skill Test Eligibility

Skill Test/ Typing Test for the qualified candidates will be conducted on computers.

SSC CHSL Criteria for Physically Handicapped

The physically challenged SSC CHSL applicants are permissible for the following posts as per their type of disability:



Postal Assistant/Sorting Assistant

One Leg affected (OL), One Arm affected (OA), One Arm One Leg affected (OAL), Both Leg Affected but not Arm (BL),

Muscular weakness and limited Physical Endurance (MW), Blind(B), Low Vision (LV), Hearing Handicapped (HH) are eligible for the post of Postal Assistant/Sorting Assistant.

Data Entry Operator

One Arm Affected (OA), One Leg Affected (OL), One arm and one leg affected (OAL), Both Leg Affected (BL),

Hearing Handicapped (HH) and Low Vision (LV) are eligible for the post of Data Entry Operator.

Lower Division Clerk/ Junior Secretariat Assistant

One Arm Affected (OA), Both Legs Affected (BL), One Leg Affected (OL), One arm and one leg affected (OAL),

Blind (B), Low Vision (LV) & Hearing Handicapped (HH), are eligible for the post of Lower Division Clerk & Junior Secretariat Assistant
