How to Apply for CDS 2 2021 Exam?

Follow the steps below to apply online for the CDS 2 Exam 2021:

  • Visit the official site and Click "ONLINE APPLICATION FOR VARIOUS EXAMINATIONS OF UPSC".
  • On the Page click on the column "Click Here for PART I भाग- I के लिए यहां क्लिक करें" against Combined Defence Services Examination (II)
  • Under the section of PART I read the instruction carefully and at the Bottom click on Yes / हां.
  • Now the Application form will appear, fill in your personal and contact details.
  • Select the preference for the academies as per age & qualification.
  • Now continue to the next step. The Registration ID would be generated.
  • The candidates should then head to "Part II" of the application form.
  • The next step is to deposit the fee of ₹ 200/-.
  • Once the fee payment is done, select the desired examination centre.
  • Upload a scanned copy of the photograph and signature as per the file size & dimensions specified in the official notification.
  • Click to "Submit".
  • Print/ Download the application form for future use.

  • The fees for the CDS application form is ₹ 200/-
  • SC/ST/Females are exempted from fee payment.
  • The payment submission is available in both offline and online mode.
  • The payment can be done via Net Banking, Mastercard/Debit Card or cash deposit in any branch of SBI Bank.

CDS Eligibility Criteria 2021

The candidates are advised to check the eligibility criteria before applying for CDS 2 2021 examination. Candidates should fulfill the eligibility criteria of the UPSC CDS exam at the following levels:

1. Nationality

A candidate should be:

  • The Citizenship of India, or
  • The subject of Nepal/Bhutan, or
  • Tibetan refugee who had been migrated to India before January 01, 1962 with the intention of Permanent Settle, or
  • An individual of Indian Origin migrated from Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Burma, Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, Ethiopia, Malawi, Zambia, Zaire & Vietnam for permanent settlement purposes in India.

In order to check the cut off of UPSC CDS Exam, follow the steps mentioned below:

Those passing the SSB interview are then taken for medical examination. After passing all these stages, an applicant transforms to a Gentleman Cadet (GC) or Lady Cadet in one of the premier defence academies.

  • UPSC conducts CDSE twice in a year. The exam notification is released usually in October and August. Candidates can apply for CDS through UPSC’s official website.

  • Once you have cleared the written exam you need to make sure that you get past the SSB interview and the medical examination as well. This might require a little effort from your side as an active person has a better chance of clearing these rounds. Start doing activities like GD for your mental conditioning, while cardio and agility building training will help in physical conditioning.

  • NCERT books of classes 6-12 form the basic material for the course. The content of these classes is very crucial in fact and concept building. In addition to this, one can refer to 'CDS Pathfinder' for a holistic syllabus structure. Also, practising the previous year papers is important, so aspirants can take any relevant book containing the previous year papers.

  • Yes, those candidates who can complete their graduation before the respective batches begin in the academies can apply for CDSE.

  • There are no percentage criteria for CDS application. The sole minimum requirement is the possession of Graduation degree.
