CTET Eligibility 2022: Latest Update

The latest changes have been introduced in the CTET Eligibility. As proposed in December 2021, CTET Eligibility Criteria 2022 will now consider the candidature of the aspirants with a degree in Post-Graduation with a minimum of 55% marks or equivalent grade and a three-year integrated BEd - MEd. This means that candidates who achieved a minimum of 55 percent marks in the post-graduation with a three-year integrated BEd-MEd course can also apply for the CTET 2022 exam.

CTET Eligibility 2022: Nationality Criteria

The candidate's nationality is the first parameter in CTET Eligibility 2022 that higher authorities check before moving to the next round. The candidate must be an Indian citizen or meet one of the CTET Nationality Criteria 2022 as listed below. CTET Eligibility 2022: CTET Education qualification for Paper 1 (Class 1-5)

Candidates applying as teachers for classes 1st to 5th in primary schools must check the CTET Paper 1 educational criteria before applying for the exam. Check the CTET Eligibility for educational qualification below:

  • Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known). OR
  • Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 45% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known), by the NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure), Regulations, 2002. OR
  • Senior Secondary (or it's equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passing or appearing in the final year of 4- year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed). OR
  • Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of a 2-year Diploma in Education (Special Education). OR
  • Graduation with at least 50% marks and Bachelor of Education (B.Ed).

CTET Eligibility 2022: CTET Education Qualification for Paper 2 (Class 6-8)

Candidates applying as a teacher for classes 6th to 8th in government schools must first check the CTET Paper 2 educational criteria before applying for the CTET Exam 2022. The CTET educational eligibility for paper 2 is mentioned below:

  • Graduation and passing or appearing in the final year of a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known). OR
  • Graduation with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed). OR
  • Graduation with at least 45% marks and passing or appearing in 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed), by the NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure) Regulations issued from time to time in this regard. OR
  • Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of 4-year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed). OR
  • Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of 4-year B.A/B. Sc. Ed or B.A.Ed/ B. Sc. Ed. OR
  • Graduation with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in 1-year B.Ed. (Special Education).
