NTA has released a correction window for UGC NET 2022 forms. Candidates who have made some mistakes in the forms can rectify them in this period. The correction window is available from May 21 to May 23, 2022. The online application was available from April 30, 2022, to May 20, 2022. The National Testing Agency conducts the exam on behalf of the UGC. Candidates who are waiting for the notification since last year's June exam can download the notification PDF given below. UGC NET 2022 exam date was informally announced by the chairman on Twitter. Candidates who had applied for the exam must be waiting for the subject-wise exam dates. The commission is going to release the exam date soon on the official website. The commission has decided to conduct a single exam for December 2021 and June 2022 on a single-day exam for each subject. UGC NET 2022 is conducted for 82 subjects now. University Grand Commission has decided to conduct the exam for one more subject i.e., Hindu Studies which is given the code 102 in the list of exams. Candidates applying for the June 2022 and December 2022 can select this subject for their Paper 2.

UGC NET Notification 2022 PDF

UGC NET 2022 is one of the prestigious exams in the country. All the master's degree holders who want to pursue their career in research or lectureship must have appeared for the exam. The exam is the first compulsory to apply for assistant professor in the Indian universities. Candidates of higher rank are selected for the Junior Research Fellowship (JRF).

There are two papers in the UGC NET exam. Candidates can select a subject from the list of subjects in which they want to appear for Paper 2. The NET exam is conducted for the 300 marks in two parts. What is UGC NET?

University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test (UGC NET) is a national-level exam conducted to choose candidates for Assistant Professor, Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) posts for Indian universities and colleges. The UGC NET exam is conducted by National Testing Agency (NTA) twice a year in June and December.

What is the NET Exam?

The NET exam is National Eligibility Test which is conducted by various government agencies to select the candidates for Junior Research Fellowships (JRF) or Assistant Professor posts in various colleges in India. How to fill out UGC NET Forms?

  • You can find the direct link to the ‘Registration Form’ on this page.
  • After successful registration, you will be assigned an ‘Application Number’. Make sure you memorize it or store it safely.
  • Next, UGC NET logs in using the assigned details to proceed with the application process.
  • Upload scanned copies of your passport size photograph’ and ‘signature’ in the prescribed file size, dimensions, and file format (preferably JPG/JPEG format).

UGC NET 2022 Eligibility Criteria

Who Can Apply for UGC NET? Candidates should check and confirm their eligibility before they proceed to apply for the exam. Candidates need to fulfill certain conditions prescribed under NET exam eligibility criteria 2022 like age limit, educational qualification, and other parameters. As per the previous year's notification, NTA had recently made some changes in the UGC NET eligibility in which the age limit was also revised. The upper age limit for candidates applying for JRF must be 31 years.

Along with the updated UGC NET age limit eligibility, UGC has announced the change in the qualification PG Degree. Now, CA/CS/ICWA is considered equivalent to the PG Degree. A chartered accountant is now eligible for the NET exam. Read further to know more about eligibility.

UGC NET 2022 Educational Qualification

The UGC NET 2022 educational criteria are mentioned below for different categories.

UGC NET 2022 Reservation Policy

The reservation policy of the Government of India is applied to UGC NET as well. According to the reservation policy, in the Central Universities and Institutions that are deemed to be Universities, 10% of the seats are reserved for the category General-Economically Weaker Section (GEN-EWS), 15% of the seats are reserved for the category Scheduled Caste(SC), 7.5% for the category Scheduled Tribe(ST) and 27% for the category Other Backward Classes belonging to the Non Creamy layer”(OBC-NCL).

Each category has 4 (four %) reservations horizontally for Persons with Disabilities (PwD) as defined in the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016 (RPwD Act, 2016) (source-Press Release by UGC).

UGC NET 2022 Salary

How to Calculate Cut Off Marks for UGC NET 2022?

NTA releases the UGC NET 2022 cut off with the result in a separate PDF. NTA takes the top 6 percent of the candidates for Assistant Professor only and the top 0.5 percent for ‘Assistant Professor and JRF’. UGC NET FAQs

  • The National Educational Testing Bureau of the University Grants Commission (UGC) administers the National Eligibility Test (NET) also known as the UGC NET exam to determine Indian nationals' eligibility for lectureships and Junior Research Fellowships (JRF). It is conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA). It is an eligibility test that tests the eligibility of candidates for lectureship and JRF in Indian Universities.

  • The tentative UGC NET 2022 exam dates are announced by the UGC chairman through Twitter on April 11, 2022. The commission has decided to conduct the December 2021 and June 2022 together in June 2022 at various centers all over the country. The updated exam dates will be announced soon on the website.

  • Candidates must have completed their post-graduation from a recognized university to be eligible for the UGC NET exam. The minimum percentage of marks for the general candidates is 55% and for the reserved category, it is 50% only. There is no age limit for the assistant professor exam where candidates must not exceed 31 years of age for JRF.

  • Candidates can download the UGC NET Notification PDF for June & December from the NTA portal or the direct link provided here.   • The syllabus of the UGC NET exam is one of the broad syllabi of any exam. The UGC NET exam syllabus is divided into two parts. The first part is common to all the candidates and contains teaching/research aptitude, comprehensive skills, reasoning ability, and other general knowledge.   • The age limit for the UGC NET exam is 31 years for the Junior Research Fellowship (JRF). Earlier the age limit was 30 years which was increased to 31 years recently. For the assistant professor posts, there is no age limit in UGC NET Exam.

  • Candidates must follow the given steps prepared by the experts for the UGC NET Exam preparation. Follow these steps to targeted preparation:

    • Check the detailed pattern & syllabus thoroughly,
    • Attempt a few questions to know weak and strong areas,
    • Make a plan by keeping in mind the weak and strong areas,
    • Revise as much as you can.
  • This is a very subjective question. It depends on one preparation and the individual. Candidates who have a strong base and clear concepts need to follow a few UGC NET books to boost their confidence and get through the exam. You need to devote proper time to your preparation.

  • Here is good news for all the candidates. There are no maximum attempts in the UGC NET exam. Candidates can take the exam till they are over age. For general candidates, the maximum age limit is 30 years. Age relaxation is applicable in the exam.

  • The UGC NET Exam is a broad exam that is conducted for almost all subjects while the CSIR NET exam is organized only for the science stream subjects. This is the major difference between both exams. CSIR NET offer JRF for selected subjects whereas the UGC NET offer JRF for a lot number of subject.

  • Candidates need to pay the application fee to complete the application process. The application fee for general candidates is ₹ 1000/-, for OBC it is ₹ 500/- and for SC/ST candidates it is ₹ 250/-. Candidates can submit the application fee online and offline mode in banks or through debit cards/ credit cards or other means.

  • The pattern of the UGC NET exam is similar to various other NET exams. There are two papers on the UGC NET exam. The exam is conducted on the same day. The first paper is common for all the stream candidates whereas the second paper is to check the knowledge of a specific subject.

  • The UGC NET full form is University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test. The exam is conducted to select the candidates for Junior Research Fellowship, Assistant Professor, or both. The exam is conducted two times a year.

  • Candidate qualified UGC NET will get a minimum of INR 35,000 pm fellowship initially. The assistant professor posts are very reputed post that comes with a great salary and perks. The JRF is not eligible for the perks they will only get the fellowship.

  • Yes, graduates can apply for the UGC NET 2022, but at the time of result, you must have completed your post-graduation. The candidate must have post-graduation before the final result UGC NET exam.

  • Minimum 40% marks are required to qualify for the UGC NET 2022 exam. After getting 40% marks, the separate cut-off will be published for different subjects. The final allotment of seats will be based on the cutoff marks decided by the commission.

  • Yes, IGNOU & PGDM students are eligible for the UGC NET exam. All the IGNOU candidates must have completed the post-graduation from one of the listed subjects. There is no restriction on colleges, it should be a government-recognized university/college.

  • The UGC NET salary for an assistant professor is mentioned. Candidates can expect lucrative pay in the range of INR 25,000/- to INR 40,000/- per month in the starting phase based on their scores, skills, and college.

  • Candidates can attempt the UGC NET exam throughout their life. However, the eligibility for JRF is determined by the age of the candidates. The candidate can give the UGC NET Exam for JRF up to 30 years of age. There is age relaxation for women and OBC/SC/ST/PwD candidates.
