CAPF Eligibility 2024 has been released on the official UPSC website for the forthcoming exam, which is scheduled for 06 August. Candidates interested in appearing for the Central Armed Police Force Assistant Commandant post can check out the eligibility criteria to see if they can apply for the same. The UPSC organizes the examination every year to recruit Group A officers for the post of Assistant Commandant, to be posted in seven Police organizations throughout India. Interested candidates must ensure that they fit the CAPF eligibility criteria before appearing for the examination.

The UPSC CAPF eligibility pronounces a set educational qualification, nationality, CAPF age limit, and physical eligibility for the candidates. Before completing the application form, all applicants must check whether they are eligible for the above parameters.

CAPF Eligibility 2024

Aspiring candidates must know the complete eligibility requirements before filling out the CAPF AC Application Form. The candidates must satisfy all the prescribed and stated CAPF Eligibility 2023 to proceed smoothly to the other stages of the recruitment process. If at a later stage, it is found that an ineligible candidate has submitted the admission form, it will be rejected.

As per CAPF eligibility, admission is entirely provisional and not final. If you clear the last round, i.e., the Interview Round, all your original documents will be verified in the Document Verification stage. The candidates must comply with all the stated criteria to land the aspired job profile. CAPF AC eligibility criteria have been segregated into the following:

CAPF Age Limit

Candidates applying for the upcoming exam must fulfil the CAPF Age Limit Criteria. Candidates who do not meet the CAPF AC age limit will not be allowed to appear for the exam. According to the CAPF eligibility, candidates must be between 20-25 years to be considered eligible for the job. As per CAPF eligibility, age relaxations are provided to specific categories, which can be checked in the section below.

CAPF AC Age Relaxation

According to the CAPF age limit, candidates from reserved categories will be provided with the upper age limit relaxations. But to avail of that, you must be aware of the CAPF age relaxation criteria. There is no age relaxation for the candidates belonging to the General category. CAPF Education Qualification

The candidates must be well acquainted with the CAPF Qualification criteria. The candidates must fulfil the educational qualification required to take the exam and land the aspired job profile. Gain insight into the CAPF eligibility criteria below:

  • To qualify for the CAPF qualification criteria, you must possess a bachelor's degree in any stream.
  • The Bachelor's degree should be obtained from any Government recognized university or any other institute formed as per an Act of Legislature (both State and Central).
  • A degree from a university formed under any Parliamentary Act or Section 3 of the UGC Act, 1956, will also be accepted.
  • As per CAPF eligibility, you can have any technical or professional degree from any recognized institution.

CAPF Height Eligibility

Candidates must fulfil the CAPF eligibility for height to be considered eligible for the examination. The CAPF eligibility criteria have specified the minimum height requirement for male and female candidates in the official notification. Find details about the CAPF height given below:

  • Minimum Height Requirement for Males - 165 cm.
  • Minimum CAPF Height Requirement for Females - 157 cm.

Note: The candidates who fail to meet the standard's minimum CAPF height requirement will not be considered for further selection rounds.

CAPF Nationality

The CAPF eligibility states that only candidates belonging to certain nationalities are allowed to appear for the exam. If you do not belong to the eligible nationality, you will require the written consent of the Central Government to be eligible to apply for the CAPF Exam. CAPF Physical Eligibility

CAPF Medical Standards

Per the CAPF eligibility, candidates must also meet specific medical standards to qualify for the position. The regulations regarding minimum medical standards include the following:

  • Candidates with deafness, consistent ear discharge, or any history of diseases such as Vertigo, Tinnitus, and Earache should not apply.
  • Candidates with conditions or diseases associated with the neck, teeth, nose, and skin should not apply.
  • Candidates with Venereal disease should not apply.
  • Candidates with chronic diseases such as Diabetes, Blood Pressure, Arthritis, Bronchial Asthma, TB, and Heart conditions should not apply.
  • Candidates with Haemorrhoids, Hernia, Condylomas, Prolapse Rectum, Varicose Veins, Disease Of The Genital Urinary Tract, Flat Foot, Knock Knees, Congenital Malformation Malunited Fracture Of Bones, Flat Chest, Rickety Rosary Defect, Pigeon Test And Stammering Should Not Apply.

CAPF Marital Status

According to the UPSC CAPF AC eligibility, there is no mention of any particular marital criteria to fulfil for aspiring candidates. The official notification released by the UPSC also does not mention any special treatment for married or unmarried candidates. If the candidates meet all other CAPF eligibility criteria, they will be considered eligible for the examination. Married and unmarried candidates can apply for the job if they are in the desired age bracket.

CAPF Eligibility for Female

Female candidates can apply for the Assistant Commander post if they fit the eligibility criteria. The CAPF eligibility for Female candidates is the same as that for male candidates. Given below is the brief about the female CAPF eligibility criteria for the exam:

  • Age Limit - The female applicant must be between 20-25 years of age.
  • Nationality - The applicant must be a citizen of India, Nepal, or Bhutan.
  • Education - Bachelor’s degree in any stream.
  • Physical Eligibility - The weight of the female candidate must be at least 46 kg, and the height must be at least 157 cm.
  • Medical Eligibility - The candidate must be in the best physical and mental condition.

Ineligible Candidates for CAPF Exam

Under certain conditions, candidates shall be considered ineligible for the upcoming exam. Along with appropriate knowledge of the CAPF eligibility criteria, you must also take note of the criteria that will lead to the disqualification of the candidates: 

  • If you were already selected for any post of CAPF in an earlier year.
  • If you are a current employee of any public sector enterprise or employed in any Government service.
