UPSC Prelims 2023 Question Paper

UPSC conducts one of the more desired examinations in the country, i.e. Civil Services Examination. The first stage of the CSE is called the Preliminary stage, which is only the screening stage for choosing civil servants for the country. The UPSC Prelims 2023 Question Paper is divided into two papers- General Studies-1 and CSAT. The GS-1 is conducted from 9.30 am to 11.30, and in the afternoon shift, i.e. from 2.30 pm to 4.30 pm, GS Paper 2 is held.

  • In the general studies-1, a total of 100 questions were asked, and the time limit was 2 hours. The GS 2 paper had only 80 questions, and here the time limit was also 2 hours.
  • Both Papers carry a total of 200 marks each, but GS2 is qualifying in nature while the GS-1 is merit ranking in nature.
