NET exam 2021 is going to be conducted to determine the eligibility for the Assistant Professor and Junior Research Fellowship in Indian universities and colleges. Prior to 2018 NET exam was conducted by CBSE but now NTA (National Testing Agency) is the in-charge on behalf of the UGC (University Grants Commission).

There are several other State Eligibility Tests similar to NET exams conducted across the country to help students find opportunities within the state. These SET exams are held only once a year whereas NET exams are conducted twice a year.

The major difference between the NET & SET exams is the no. of subjects offered for the exam. NET Exam Registration

Candidates holding a master degree with minimum 55% marks or equivalent in Humanities and Social Science, Computer Science and Applications, Electronic Science and also wants to pursue their career as a professor usually appear for the NET exams. Thus, to appear for these common entrance tests you need to fill the NET registration form which is released on the same day along with the recruitment notification. UGC NET Exam 2021

UGC NET exam 2021 is considered as one of the popular as well as the toughest exams in India. It is conducted twice a year (June and December) across the country. Cracking the UGC NET exam will make you eligible to be an Assistant Professor and/or Junior Research Fellowship in UGC approved Universities.

UGC NET exam is qualifying in nature, due to which every year lakhs of aspirants appear for it but only a few win the race. However, the cut off is much higher than the state eligibility tests. This year UGC NET exam date 2021 for the June session is yet to be released.

CSIR NET 2021 Exam

CSIR NET is the eligibility test similar to the UGC NET exam but only gives the opportunity to students holding science backgrounds. NTA only conducts this exam, twice a year for the position of Junior Research Fellowship and Lectureship in Council of Scientific and Industrial Research.

Unlike UGC NET, this exam is conducted in June and December to help out aspirants in finding their dreams and turning them out into success. There are 5 subjects for a student to choose his/her career from – Chemical Sciences, Earth Sciences, Life Sciences, Mathematical Sciences, and Physical Sciences.

SET Exams 2021

State Eligibility Tests is an exam conducted to select the candidates for Assistant Professor in various colleges and universities within the state. The SET exam is similar to that NET exam with different parameters. The syllabus and exam pattern is followed on the footprints of NET exams.

However, SET exams are conducted by separate exam agencies in different states. They offer 2nd paper in approx. 41 subjects. The exam notification for SET exams is released once in a year along relevant information regarding SET eligibility criteria, registration, syllabus and much more.

GSET 2021 Exam

Gujarat State Eligibility Test, GSET is the common entrance exam conducted to recruit Assistant Professors & Lectureship in the states of Gujarat. GSET 2021 exam will be conducted by Gujarat State Eligibility Test (GSET) Agency, Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda, Vadodara (Nodal Agency). GSET exam is conducted in 23 subjects at 11 examination centers spread across the Gujarat state.
