As per the latest updates, the Consortium will conduct CLAT Exam 2024 on 3 December 2023 to initiate law admission in top law schools in India like NLUs. The exam conducting body will activate the online CLAT 2024 registration link on its official website soon. The Executive Committee and Governing body met NLU Bhopal and released a press release on 23 May 2023 by deciding the CLAT exam date 2024. CLAT Exam 2024 Latest updates

• 3 December 2023: The CLAT 2024 will be held on this date in offline pen and paper mode in different exam centres across the country.
• To be Declared Soon: As per the trends, the exam conducting authority will start the registration process for the upcoming CLAT exam tentatively by the last week of August 2023.
• 23 May 2023: The authority has released a press release and declared the exam date officially,
• 31 October 2023: The officials have released the official notification for CLAT Exam 2024 on its official website for all the candidates.

What is CLAT?

The CLAT Entrance Exam is a nationwide Law Entrance Exam for candidates seeking admission to undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) law programmes at 22 NLUs and other private schools and universities that accept CLAT Scores. Additionally, the result of this exam is also used for recruitment by some public organizations, such as ONGC and BHEL. CLAT 2024 will be administered by the Consortium of NLUs like every year for the candidates, who wish to study law from CLAT Accepting Colleges in India. It is the most opted law entrance exam by candidates and it is seen that every year more than 50,000 applicants participate in the exam.

CLAT 2024 consists of 5 sections, including English, Quantitative Techniques, GK & Current Affairs, Logical Reasoning, and Legal Aptitude. It is an offline pen-paper-based exam, in which a total of 150 passage-based MCQs are asked. The total CLAT Exam duration is 120 minutes. The difficulty level of the exam is usually moderate to difficulty, as the competition of this exam is high enough. CLAT Notification 2024

CLAT 2024 notification is released by the exam conducting authority on 31 October 2022. All the other important details, including exam application, registration dates, syllabus, and exam pattern will also be announced by CLAT Consortium. The Governing Body and Executive Committee Consortium met at the NLU, Bhopal on 20 May 2023 and decided that the CLAT exam 2024 will be conducted on 3 December 2023.

CLAT Consortium

The CLAT Exam was administered by NLUs on a rotating basis until 2018. However, starting in 2019, a permanent body made up of institutions known as the Consortium of NLUs is conducting CLAT. The Consortium (also known as the CLAT Consortium) is headquartered at NLSIU Bangalore and consists of the following members:

• An Executive Committee
• The CLAT Convenor of the last year
• The CLAT Convenor of the following year
• Two co-opted Vice-Chancellors of NLU

In 2023, the Convenor of CLAT was Professor (Dr) Sudhir Krishnaswamy, Vice-Chancellor of NLSIU Bangalore. Professor Dr Poonam Saxena (Vice-Chancellor) had been elected as the president of Consortium in 2023.

CLAT Age Limit

The candidates must fulfil the officially prescribed CLAT Age Limit to be able to take part in the exam. As per the eligibility criteria of the CLAT 2024, there are no age-limit criteria for candidates applying for the exam for PG or UG. If the candidates fulfil the basic educational requirements, then they can take part in the CLAT Exam 2024.

CLAT Educational Qualification

The details about the CLAT Exam educational qualification are mentioned below. The candidate must have completed 10+2 or an equivalent examination from a recognized university or board. Candidates who have passed class 12th are eligible to take the Common Law Admission Test CLAT 2024. However, such candidates will only be considered for admission if they meet all of the other eligibility conditions mentioned below.

• The candidate should qualify for the class 12th or equivalent exam from a recognized board or university.
• For General/OBC/Specially-abled persons (SAP), the percentage criteria are 45%.
• For SC/ST, the percentage criteria are 40%.

CLAT 2024 Registration

The CLAT Registration 2024 is expected to be started by August 2023 on the official website of the Consortium. Last year, the official tenure of CLAT Registration was from 8 August 2022 to 18 November 2022. The application form for CLAT 2024 can be filled out online from the official website of the Consortium of NLUs after it is released. CLAT Exam fee 2024 is expected to remain same as the last year.

Every question contains one mark each, and there is a negative marking of -0.25 marks for every incorrect answer in CLAT 2024.

The admit card for CLAT will be released by NLU after registration. Make sure you have your application form number and password handy to download the admit card hassle-free. The exam authority will declare CLAT Admit Card usually 15 days before the exam on the official website. CLAT Merit List

NLU will release the CLAT Rank List 2024 PDF and the scorecard on the official website. Candidates can check the consolidated all-India merit list for CLAT Exam law admissions by downloading the CLAT 2024 Merit List online from the official website. The merit list contains the rank, admit card number, and total marks.

CLAT 2024 Seat Allotment

Candidates who will successfully complete the registration and submit the counselling fee will be considered for CLAT Seat Allotment 2024. The CLAT Exam rank and NLU option submitted by the applicant will be considered for the CLAT Seat Allotment. Candidates can check the complete CLAT Seat Allotment list for both 5 – Year Integrated Law Programme and LL.M. Programme, after the release of the CLAT 2024 Seat Allotment list.

CLAT 2024 Counselling

The CLAT Counselling list will be uploaded on the official website of CLAT. The complete schedule and process of counselling are declared by the Consortium of NLUs.

• Candidates should take note of the change in scheduling and register for CLAT Counselling appropriately. In addition, instead of three times as previously announced, the Counseling invitation will be extended to about five times the amount of seats in each category.
• Only those candidates whose names / admit card numbers appear on the CLAT Counselling 2024 list are eligible to register for counselling. Candidates will receive an invitation to register for counselling by SMS and email. Candidates who do not complete the registration for CLAT Counselling will not be considered for allotment.
