These parameters include educational qualification, nationality, SSC GD age limit, and physical eligibility for the post of SSC GD Constable. SSC GD Eligibility 2023

SSC GD eligibility must be known to each candidate planning to apply for the SSC GD exam. It is of utmost importance to have prior knowledge of the eligibility conditions, such as the SSC GD age limit 2023, qualification, and physical standards. It will ensure you do not lag and apply for the exam successfully. All the candidates must fulfil all SSC GD eligibility norms, else, they risk getting disqualified at any stage of the exam.

SSC GD physical eligibility and other factors are decided by authorities. These eligibility norms are extremely important as they are prescribed based on the job function. As SSC GD job is physically demanding, hence, fulfilling SSC GD eligibility is not an important criterion for recruiting body but also for the candidates. SSC GD Age Limit

Authorities have set a prescribed age limit for different categories. Based on the various job function, SSC GD age limit is decided as per the requirements of SSC. Generally, at the time of application, the minimum and maximum age limit for SSC GD is 18 and 23 years old respectively. It is important that candidates abide by the age limit for SSC GD as the job requires few qualities such as physical fitness that are impacted by age. 

  • Candidate should be at least 18 years old as of 01-01-2023 to apply for the exam
  • The maximum SSC GD age limit is 23 years, with the candidate not being born later than 01.01.2005.

Despite these maximum and minimum limits, there are also provisions for age relaxation for certain categories. Hence, SSC GD age limit OBC will be different from that of the ST or SC category. SSC GD Age Limit for General/OBC/SC/ST/Others must be adhered to or else candidates can get disqualified. You must also note that you have to enter the exact date of birth and name as mentioned in the Class 10th certificate. 

 SSC GD Age Limit Relaxation

Candidates must note that the SSC GD age limit also includes some relaxation for candidates from the reserved categories. SSC GD Qualification

The Staff Selection Commission has established a minimum SSC GD qualification under eligibility criteria for aspirants who wish to apply for the exam. The SSC GD eligibility criteria are listed in detail in the official notification that is released by authorities on its website. Candidates must note that it is mandatory to fulfil the SSC GD Qualification requirements laid down by the Staff Selection Commission in its official notification, which states a candidate must have passed the 10th class to be eligible for the exam.   • You should have passed Class 10th or matriculation from a recognized board.
  • If you will be appearing for your class 10th in 2023, then you are ineligible to apply for the exam.

SSC GD Eligibility 2023: Nationality

If you are applying for the exam, then you must fulfil the next condition listed under SSC GD Eligibility. The candidate must fulfil any of the given nationalities. Since SSC GD vacancy is released as per the state/UT, you must submit the domicile/PRC against your State/UT.

Hence, a candidate must either be:

  • A Citizen of India or
  • A Citizen of Nepal or
  • A Citizen of Bhutan or
  • Tibetan refugees who came to India before 1st January 1962 to be settled permanently in India or
  • A person of Indian origin migrated from Sri Lanka, East African Pakistan, Burma, S countries of Kenya, the United Republic of Tanzania (formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Uganda, Zambia, and Vietnam to permanently settle in India.

SSC GD Physical Eligibility

SSC GD Physical Eligibility is set by the commission for candidates taking the SSC GD Constable exam. The physical standard requirement includes height, chest expansion (only for male candidates), and vision for SSC GD Constable for male and female candidates. SSC GD Physical Efficiency Test (PET)

SSC GD Physical eligibility broadly consists of two factors- physical standards and physical efficiency. Under physical efficiency, candidates must prove that they are physically fit for the role of GD Constable. For this, they must qualify for a Physical Efficiency Test or PET organised by the Board. The SSC GD Physical Efficiency Test will consist of the following criteria:

  • SSC GD Male Running Time- 5 km in 25 minutes & For Ladakh region- 1 Mile in 6 and a half minutes.
  • SSC GD Female Running Time-1.6 km in 8 1/2 minutes & for Ladakh region- 800m in 4 minutes.

  • SSC GD Eligibility is a criterion set by the Staff Selection Commission for the candidates who wish to take the exam and become a part of General Duty in any of the positions. You must fulfil the following SSC GD eligibility for being appointed as a GD Constable in SSC:

  • The SSC GD Constable Eligibility consists of various parameters candidates must fulfil to participate in the exam. These parameters include nationality, educational qualification, and the SSC GD Age limit. Moreover, candidates must prove that they are physically fit to become a Constable by satisfying the physical standards and measurements established by SSC for both male and female candidates.

  • All the male candidates who belong to the General, SC & OBC categories should have a minimum height of 170 cm as per the SSC GD Eligibility. But that's not all.   • SSC GD age limit for female candidates is between the range of 18 to 23 years. There is no age relaxation for female candidates. However, if they belong to reserved categories then the relaxation norms will apply as stated in the official notification.

  • Candidates must check the height requirements according to their category under the SSC GD Eligibility. For instance, the height requirement is different for candidates under Scheduled Tribes and those who come from hilly areas, and more. Also, the height requirement is different for both male and female candidates. Hence, the candidates must check and fulfill the exact conditions under the SSC GD Physical Eligibility to be considered for the position.

  • Yes, SSC has mentioned certain age relaxations for categories like SC/ST/OBC and some other categories as per the Government of India. Therefore, candidates from these categories can enjoy relaxation on the upper age limit specified under SSC GD Age Limit.

  • Candidates who belong to SC category have age relaxation of 5 years. Hence, the upper SSC GD age limit for SC is 28 years. The minimum age limit remains 18 years.

  • The commission has not released specific SSC GD age limit EWS hence, candidates who belong to the candidates will follow the general age limit for SSC GD which is 18 to 23 years.

  • SSC GD Female Height for General, SC & OBC candidates is 157 cm. For candidates belonging to hilly areas, SSC GD Female Height is 155 cm Height and for children of deceased or retired police personnel/ Multi-Tasking Staff (Formerly group ‘D’ employees) of Delhi Police, it is 152 cm. Finally, SSC GD Female Height for ST Candidates is 150 cm.

  • SSC GD age limit for General category is between the range of 18 to 23 years. Only candidates whose age fit this bracket will be eligible to apply for the exam.
