WB SET 2023 Exam Date for the 24th session was released by the West Bengal College Service Commission (WBCSC) on the official website. As per the latest notification, the exam will be conducted on Sunday, January 08, 2023. What is WB SET Exam?

WB SET Exam or West Bengal State Eligibility Test is conducted by West Bengal College Service Commission (WBCSC) every year to recruit knowledgeable candidates for Assistant Professors in various colleges and universities of West Bengal. WBCSC will conduct West Bengal State Eligibility Test for two papers: Paper 1 & Paper 2. WB SET Paper 1 is standard for every student, and paper 2 is conducted for 33 different subjects. Applicants must score equal to or more than the minimum qualifying marks to proceed to the next round. Before that, they must ensure that they fulfill the eligibility criteria of the WB SET exam. To appear in this state-level exam, candidates must have a master’s degree from a recognized university. WB SET Exam 2023 Eligibility

Being eligible for WB SET 2023 is the only option to submit the candidature for this exam. WBCSC can cancel any candidate's application without prior notice if they find that an applicant does not fulfill WB SET exam eligibility points.

  • Candidates should have obtained a master’s degree from UGC-accredited universities/institutions with at least 55% marks.
  • Candidates who belong to OBC/EWS/SC/ST/PWD/Transgender category will be considered qualified if they have secured at least 50% marks in a Master's degree or equivalent exam.
  • Final year master’s students are also eligible to apply for WB SET 2023 Exam.
  • If you are a Ph.D. holder and your Master’s was completed by 19th September 1991 (irrespective of the date of declaration of result), then you shall be granted 5% relaxation in aggregate marks.
  • You can apply for WB SET 2023 only for that subject in which you have done your Master's degree.
  • Candidates who have passed the UGC/CSIR JRF exam before 1989 don’t need to appear for WB SET 2023.

WB SET 2023 Age Limit

There is no upper age limit for West Bengal State Eligibility Test. Candidates of any age can apply to appear in this exam without any issue. There is no relaxation will be needed for reserved category candidates.
