RRB Group D Selection Process has four stages that are prescribed by the exam conducting authority. Candidates aspiring to clear the Group D exam must be aware of these stages. Having knowledge of the selection process will help candidates plan their preparation in advance. The four stages of RRB Group D Selection Process are Computer Based Test (CBT), Physical Efficiency Test (PET), Document Verification, and Medical Test.

RRB Group D Selection Process 2023

RRB Group D Selection Process is released by the Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) in the official notification. candidates preparing for the exam should be well-acquainted with the various stages of this process. It will help them understand the exam and set the scope of their preparation. The RRB Group D exam consists of 4 stages namely Computer Based Test (CBT), Physical Efficiency Test (PET), Document Verification (DV), and Medical Examination (ME). RRB Group D Selection Process for CBT Exam

In the RRB Group D selection process, CBT is the first stage, the board invites the application for Group D posts, to appear for the CBT, candidates have to fill out the online application form. The application fee for General/ OBC Male candidates is Rs 500 (Rs 400 to be refunded later) while for Female/ PwBD/ Transgender/ Ex-servicemen candidates it is Rs 250 (Rs 250 to be refunded later). 

Issue of RRB Group D CBT Admit Card

The board then issues RRB Group D CBT application status 10 to 15 days before the exam and admit card 4 days prior to the exam. Candidates are then able to download the admit card by entering their login id and password sent to their registered mobile number and email id.

Details Mentioned in RRB Group D Admit Card

The admit card highlights the important details of the exam such as the candidate’s name, candidate roll number, exam date, exam venue/center, exam timing (shift timing), etc.

Appearing in RRB Group D CBT Exam

All candidates whose application form is accepted can appear in the first stage of the exam which is CBT. The CBT comprises four sections namely General Science, General Intelligence and Reasoning, Mathematics, General Awareness, and Current Affairs. In this stage, candidates get a total of 90 minutes to solve 100 questions. Also, candidates get 1 mark for each correct answer and 1/3 mark deduction for each wrong answer.

RRB Group D Selection Process for PET (Physical Efficiency Test)

The Railway Group D Selection Process has a second stage which is the Physical Efficiency Test (PET). As per the RRB Group D cut off marks in the CBT, shortlisted candidates will be called to appear for the Physical Efficiency Test (PET). The PET is qualifying in nature and it is mandatory to qualify the RRB Group D PET for being considered for the next stage of the selection process. While this stage does not have any RRC syllabus, there are still RRB Group D selection criteria for the second stage that involves the following for male and female candidates.

For this stage, candidates will be shortlisted 2 times the total number of vacancies released. This means a total of 2,07,538 candidates will be selected for PET.

RRB Group D Document Verification

After completion of PET, the third stage of the RRB Group D Selection Process is Document Verification. The number of candidates called for this will be equal to the total number of vacancies. The candidates who will qualify the first two stages will be eligible to appear for this round. Candidates will have to produce all the original documents in the RRB Group D document verification. However, please note that not being able to provide your documents may lead to disqualification. Note: Candidates must be present with their documentation during the verification process. The documents required might be in Hindi or English. If the certificates are in a language other than English, the candidate must provide a self-attested translated version. On the day of document verification, candidates must present the original documents as well as two sets of self-attested photocopies.

RRB Group D Medical Test

This is the final round of Group D selection process. In this stage which is the Group D medical test, candidates will have to undergo various tests.
