RRB Group D Selection Process 2022 has four stages and candidates aspiring to clear the Group D exam must be aware of them. Having knowledge of this process will help candidates with their preparation and plan in advance. Computer Based Test (CBT),  Medical Test, Physical Efficiency Test (PET) and Document Verification are the four stages of RRB Group D Selection Process 2022.

RRB Group D Selection Process 2022

RRB Group D Selection Process 2022 is decided by the Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) which also declares the exam notification for the post Group D in the various departments of the Indian Railway. The RRB Group D exam consists of 4 stages namely Computer Based Test (CBT), Physical Efficiency Test (PET), Document Verification (DV), and Medical Examination (ME). RRB Group D Selection Process First Stage: CBT Exam

In the Railway Group D selection process, CBT is the first stage, the board invites the application for Group D posts, to appear for the CBT, candidates have to fill out the online application form. The application fee for General/ OBC Male candidates is Rs 500 (Rs 400 to be refunded later) while for Female/ PwBD/ Transgender/ Ex-servicemen candidates it is Rs 250 (Rs 250 to be refunded later). As per the official records, around 1.15 crore candidates have applied for 1.03 Lakh vacancies.

Issue of RRB Group D CBT Admit Card

The board then issues RRB Group D CBT application status 10 to 15 days before the exam and admit card 4 days prior to the exam. Candidates are then able to download the admit card by entering their login id and password sent on their registered mobile number and email id.

Details Mentioned in RRB Group D Admit Card

The admit card highlights the important details of the exam such as the candidate’s name, candidate roll number, exam date, exam venue/ centre, exam timing (shift timing), etc.

Appearing in RRB Group D CBT Exam

All candidates whose application form is accepted can appear in the first stage of the exam which is CBT. The CBT comprises four sections namely General Science, General Intelligence and Reasoning, Mathematics, General Awareness, and Current Affairs. In this stage, candidates get a total of 90 minutes to solve 100 questions. Also, candidates get 1 mark for each correct answer and 1/3 marks deduction for each wrong answer.

RRB Group D Selection Process Second Stage: PET (Physical Efficiency Test)

The Railway Group D Selection Process has a second stage which is the Physical Efficiency Test (PET). As per the RRB Group D Cutoff Marks in the CBT, shortlisted candidates will be called to appear for the Physical Efficiency Test (PET). The PET is qualifying in nature and it is mandatory to qualify the RRB Group D PET for being considered for the next stage of the selection process. While this stage does not have any RRC syllabus, there are still RRB Group D selection criteria for the 2nd stage that involves the following for male and female candidates.

For this stage, candidates will be shortlisted 2 times the total number of vacancies released. This means a total of 2,07,538 candidates will be selected for PET.

RRB Group D Selection Process Third Stage: Document Verification

After completion of PET, the third stage of the RRB Group D Selection process is Document Verification. As per the latest notification, the number of candidates called for this will be equal to the total number of vacancies. This implies that a lot of candidates will be called for RRB Group D Document Verification and the total performance of the other two stages will also weigh in here. However, please note that not being able to provide your documents may lead to disqualification.

The candidates who will qualify for all the above-mentioned two stages of the RRC Group D exam will be eligible to appear for the last round of the selection process which is the Document Verification. Candidates will have to produce all the original documents in the RRB Group D document verification.

During Document Verification, you must present an accepted copy of this declaration as well as a letter of authorization from your civil employer.

Note: Candidates must be present with their documentation during the verification process. The documents required might be in Hindi or English. If the certificates are in a language other than English, the candidate must provide a self-attested translated version. On the day of document verification, candidates must present the original documents as well as two sets of self-attested photocopies.

RRB Group D Medical Test: Final Stage

This is the final round of Group D selection process. In this stage which is the Group D medical test, candidates will have to undergo through Colour Vision Test, Distance Vision Test, Blood Test, ECG Test, X-Ray Test, Blood Pressure Test, Urine Test, and ENT Test.

RRB GROUP D Selection Process FAQs

  • The RRB Group D Selection Process consists of 4 stages which are Computer Based Test (CBT), Physical Efficiency Test (PET), Document Verification (DV), and Medical Examination.
