BPSC Notification 2023

The 68th BPSC notification for Mains was released on 5th April 2023. The Mains exam is scheduled for 12th, 17th, and 18th May 2023, respectively. More than 6 lakh candidates register yearly to compete in the Bihar Combined Competitive Examination (CCE). What is BPSC Exam?

The Bihar Public Service Commission conducts the Bihar Civil Service examination to fill various vacancies in General Administrative Department.  BPSC holds the Combined Competitive Examination (CCE) in three stages: Prelims, Mains, and Interview. BPSC Eligibility Criteria 2023

Bihar Public Service Commission has notified the eligibility criteria for Bihar civil service exam 2023. The BPSC eligibility details include information on the educational qualification, BPSC age limit, and age relaxation for all the categories. It is important to go through the eligibility criteria to avoid disqualification from the exam.

BPSC Age Limit

To apply for the Bihar PCS exam, candidates should be aware of the correct BPSC age limit as defined for different categories. The age limit for general males is 20 - 37 years. Besides this, there is also a provision for relaxation in the upper BPSC age limit. This relaxation is based on the category of the candidates.

For the Deputy Superintendent of Police post, the minimum age eligibility is 20 years.

BPSC Age Relaxation

The Bihar Commission has provided a special facility regarding age relaxation for several categories. This relaxation is applicable to the upper BPSC age limit. The age relaxation for ex-servicemen is 3 years plus the years of service. Conditionally, the applicant is not above 53 years of age. For the applicants applying under the Persons with Disability (PwD) category, the age relaxation of 10 years is given.

  • BPSC has also defined age eligibility for government servants who have been in continuous service for at least three years.
  • The upper age limit for such candidates according to the Commission is relaxed by 05 years.

BPSC Educational Qualification

To apply for BPSC Combined Competitive (Preliminary) Examination, aspirants need to have a Graduation or equivalent degree from a government-recognized university. The BPSC eligibility criteria for educational requirements do not mention a specialized field or minimum marks in graduation. The only condition in the educational criteria is to have a Graduation degree from a recognized institute.

BPSC Selection Process

The BPSC selection process is comprised of three main stages. The final result of the candidates is based on the scores obtained by them in these three stages: Preliminary Exam, Main Exam, and Interview. Candidates who will clear all the exams and the Interview will get shortlisted for the Bihar Civil Services. The 68th BPSC Prelims was conducted on 12th February and the Mains exam is scheduled on 12th/17th/18th May 2023.

  • The first stage as per the BPSC notification, i.e. the Prelims is composed of a single paper on General Studies.
  • The exam carried 150 marks and applicants get 2 hours for the same.

BPSC 2023 Salary
