RRB NTPC Eligibility 2023

RRB NTPC eligibility is released by the Railway Recruitment Board. Candidates who want to appear for the RRB NTPC exam must know the eligibility criteria properly. Without adhering to it, one won't be able to successfully apply for the exam. Only those candidates who fulfil the RRB NTPC eligibility criteria are allowed to appear for the exam.

RRB NTPC Age Limit

There are two levels in the exam - Undergraduate or 12th standard level, and Graduate level. The RRB NTPC age limit for candidates applying for the undergraduate level is 18 to 30 years, while the age limit required for the graduate level exam should be from 18 to 33 years. Note: If a student is a graduate or possesses higher qualifications than the 12th Standard, 50% marks compulsion in Class XII will not be insisted upon you. For example, If a student is a Graduate and has scored 45% in Class XII, 50% marks compulsion in Class XII will not be insisted upon you.

RRB NTPC Nationality

As per the RRB NTPC eligibility, only candidates with certain nationalities are allowed to appear for the exam. Aspirants should satisfy the following NTPC nationality criteria to be allowed to apply for the exam:

  • A citizen of India
  • A subject of Bhutan or Nepal
  • A Tibetan Refugee who came to India before 1st January 1962 with an intention of permanently settling in India
  • A person of Indian origin who has migrated from Burma, Pakistan, East African countries of Uganda, Kenya, the United Republic of Tanzania (formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Malawi, Zambia, Zaire, Ethiopia, and Vietnam with an intention to permanently settle in India.

Distance Vision: 6/9, 6/12 with or without glasses (Power of lenses not to exceed 4D). Near Vision: Sn 0.6, 0.6 with or without glasses when reading or close work is required and must pass test for Field of Vision (Binocular Vision) etc.

Physically fit in all respects

Distant Vision: 6/12, nil with or without glasses. Near Vision: Sn 0.6 combined with or without glasses where reading or close work is required.

  • RRB NTPC Eligibility provides details of all the conditions required to fulfill by the candidates regarding age limit, educational qualification, nationality, etc. Candidates are advised to check the RRB NTPC eligibility before applying for the exam.

  • The RRB NTPC age limit is different for the two levels of the exam. The minimum age limit for all levels is 18 years.   • The minimum qualification for RRB NTPC exam is 12th passed. It is for posts like Assistant Clerk cum Typist, Trains Clerk, Commercial cum Ticket Clerk, etc. For some posts, RRB NTPC qualification is an undergraduate degree from a recognised university.

  • As per the RRB NTPC eligibility, the minimum age required to apply for RRB NTPC exam is 18 years. You should have completed at least 12th grade to apply for the exam.

  • Yes, a candidate who has completed their 12th class can apply for the exam as long as they satisfy other RRB NTPC eligibility criteria as well.

  • Yes, candidates can apply for RRB NTPC exam after the 12th class. However, it is advised that candidates check the notification carefully to ascertain where the minimum RRB NTPC qualification required is 12th pass.

  • The Railway NTPC age limit is not 35 years for General Category. However, for reserved categories, the Railway age limit can be 35 after relaxation.

  • If you do not fulfill the RRB NTPC eligibility criteria, then do not apply for the exam. Even if you find success in filling out the application form and clearing the exam, your candidature will be canceled in the document verification stage. However, it is advisable to check the relaxations available for different categories like SC/ST/OBC/Ex-servicemen, etc to find whether you are eligible or not.

  • RRB NTPC age limit for SC will be between 18 to 35 years for the undergraduate level and 18 to 38 years for the graduate level. This is because there is a relaxation of 5 years for the SC and ST categories.

  • The RRB NTPC age limit for Station Master is between 18 to 33 years. Candidates who belong to reserved categories can get a few years of relaxation for the upper age limit as well.
