SSC CHSL eligibility includes educational qualification, age limit, nationality, and physical fitness criteria that a candidate must fulfill to apply for the exam. SSC CHSL Nationality

A candidate must be either a citizen of India, Nepal, Bhutan, or a Tibetan refugee who came over to India before 1 January 1962 to permanently settle in India. Candidates of Indian origin who have migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia, and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India are also eligible to apply.

SSC CHSL Age limit

The SSC CHSL age limit varies from post to post. The minimum age to appear for SSC CHSL 2023 as of January 01, 2023, is 18 years and the maximum age is 27 years. However, there are age relaxations for candidates belonging to different categories.

SSC CHSL Educational Qualification

Candidates must have passed the 12th Standard or equivalent examination from a recognized Board or University. If the applicant possesses any Degree obtained through Open Universities or Distance Education Mode, then that must be recognized by the Distance Education Council, IGNOU. Candidates who are in their final year of 10+2 education can also apply for the exam. However, they must provide proof of passing the exam before the skill test or typing test.

SSC CHSL 2023 Number of Attempts

There is no limit to the number of attempts set by the recruiting body, but the age criteria have been well decided by the recruiting board. Therefore, a candidate can only apply for the SSC CHSL Recruitment 2023 post within the given age limit. Thus, make sure you come under the age group of 18 to 27 years while applying for this exam.

SSC CHSL Selection Process

As per the SSC CHSL notification, there are some modifications in the SSC CHSL Selection Process. Instead of three tiers, now there will only be two tiers that candidates must clear to get selected for their desired position. While Tier 1 is mostly the same as before, major changes have been made in Tier 2. Listed below are the two stages that candidates need to sail through to grab their dream job!

Tier 1: Objective-Type Questions

Tier 2 of SSC CHSL exam consists of three different sections that are divided into smaller modules. Hence, the descriptive round is scrapped, and SSC CHSL will focus more on the skill test and knowledge of the candidates. Candidates need to qualify for each tier in order to appear for the subsequent tier. Those candidates who will qualify for both stages will be asked to appear for the document verification round.

SSC CHSL Exam Pattern 2023

In the latest SSC CHSL notification 2023, the Commission announced the revised SSC CHSL Exam Pattern that will be followed this year. The biggest change that has been made is that the exam conducting authorities have now reduced one Tier of the exam. Therefore, there will now be two tiers instead of three in the selection process. With this revision, there have also been changes to the exam pattern. So, before beginning preparation for SSC CHSL 2023, candidates must make a note of the changes and learn the new exam pattern. The exam pattern for Tier 1 is almost the same, but Tier 2 is completely modified. Listed below is the revised exam pattern for SSC CHSL 2023 exam.

SSC CHSL Exam Pattern Tier 1

There are four subjects or sections in the SSC CHSL Tier 1 exam consisting of 25 questions that need to be completed in 60 minutes. These four sections are- English, General Awareness, Reasoning, and Quantitative Aptitude. For every correct answer, 2 marks will be awarded to the candidates, and 0.50 marks will be deducted for every wrong answer.

Tier 2 will now be conducted in two sessions, further, split into different sections and modules. Unlike before, now Tier 2 will not be a descriptive paper.
