MPSC Syllabus 2023: Revised MPSC Syllabus in Marathi, English

MPSC 2023 Syllabus of Prelims and Mains has different objectives. The Prelims syllabus is designed to screen candidates for the main exam based on their performance in Paper 1 and CSAT. Applicants need to be well-versed in the topics asked in the exam to perform well. After prelims, the selected candidates are called for the main exam, which has 9 papers. Changes in MPSC Syllabus

Maharashtra Public Service Commission decided to revise the Rajyaseva syllabus for the Mains exam in line with the UPSC syllabus. The exam will have 2 additional optional papers. The total number of papers is now 9 compared to the earlier 6. The marks scored on the language papers will not be counted in the merit list. There are 7 compulsory papers of 1750 marks in the exam. Candidates must appear for 2 optional papers for the subject chosen out of the 26 subjects.

MPSC Mains Syllabus 2023 Paper 1 Marathi

MPSC Mains Paper 1 is the Marathi Language paper. There will be questions in Marathi consisting of essay, translation, and Precis writing. The detailed topics are given below:

MPSC Syllabus for Mains Paper 2 English 

MPSC Paper 2 is the English Language (Essay/Grammar/ Comprehension) paper. This paper shall be objective only. MPSC Syllabus is divided into two sections, i.e., Marathi and English. Both sections have an equal number of questions. There will be questions related to grammar and comprehension in Mains Paper 2.

MPSC Syllabus for Paper 3- Essay

Candidates can write a good essay in either English or Marathi on one of the given topics. The Commission provides 3-4 topics for the essay paper. Aspirants must pick one topic and write an essay with a good presentation and facts. The commission has not defined any topics in the MPSC Syllabus for Paper 3.

After the candidates are done with Paper 2 (Essay Writing), they will have to write down the General Studies papers. Paper 5 of the MPSC Syllabus for GS 2 has questions from the Indian Constitution, Indian Politics (Special reference to Maharashtra) & Law. Most of the questions are around Maharashtra Politics and the Constitution of India.
