The quality of soil gets depleted due to the continuous plantation of crops. If crops are planted without any break, it will deplete the quality of nutrients in the soil. Not only soil loses major nutrients but the quality of crops growing also gets impacted. Hence, to ensure soil quality and ensure it stays rich with nutrients, crops should not be planted continuously.

Effects of Continuous Plantation of Crops on Soil
Soil gets severely affected by the continuous plantation of crops. There are many negative effects that endanger the quality of soil when crops are planted without a break. Some of the major impacts of such a harmful practice are listed below.
- Due to continuous plantation, soil loses its quality.
- Due to irrigation, all nutrients in the soil get washed away harming its quality.
- There is a loss of essential nutrients like phosphorus, nitrogen, potassium, etc.
- The continuous plantation also results in lower quality yield as the soil is not able to provide the plants with essential nutrients.
- Plantation without a break leads to the removal of the top layer of soil which is the richest source of nutrients for the plants.
- As the soil quality gets compromised, over time, soil ultimately gets infertile due to the continuous plantation of crops.
Summary:
Explain how Soil gets Affected by the Continuous Plantation of Crops
The soil gets affected by the continuous plantation of crops as it loses its nutrients. Excessive plantations can lead to the depletion of nutrients and the removal of the top layer of soil. This can cause the yield quality to decline and the soil to get infertile over time.
