What is LOC?
LOC stands for Line of Control and denotes a de facto border in Kashmir between India and Pakistan. The length of the border is 740km and separates India from the Pakistan-Occupied-Kashmir. Earlier LOC was known as the cease-fire line but it was renamed after the Shimla agreement on July 3, 1972.
What is POK?
As you now know the POK full form means Pakistan-Occupied-Kashmir. However, it is an area different from what was officially created at the time of partition. Pakistan invaded India and occupied a part of Jammu and Kashmir in 1947 which was later termed POK. POK is divided into 2 parts:
- Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK)
- Gilgit-Baltistan
