SSC Eligibility Criteria 2023: Updated Criteria for All SSC, Railway Exams

SSC Eligibility 2023: Before we start our preparation for any exam, it is essential to get a fair idea about the eligibility criteria of the exam such as minimum educational qualification, age limit, nationality, physical standards, age relaxation, etc. Knowing the SSC eligibility criteria help us to understand the prerequisites to appear in the examination and prepare accordingly if one is not eligible.
Therefore, to solve the purpose of a majority of students, in this article, we have provided the key points on eligibility criteria in terms of educational qualification, physical standards for various govt. job exams conducted by SSC and Railway boards.

SSC Eligibility 2023: Common for CGL, CPO, CHSL, MTS, GD Constable, RRB Group D, RRB NTPC Exams
Candidates who wish to apply for either SSC or Railway or State Exams for government job must fulfil the following eligibility criteria in terms of nationality:
- A citizen of India OR
- A subject of Nepal/ Bhutan OR
- A Tibetan refugee who came to India before January 01, 1962, with the intention of permanently settling in India
- A person of Indian origin migrated from either/ or Burma, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, East African countries such as Uganda, Kenya, United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Zaire, Malawi, Ethiopia, Vietnam to permanently settle in India
SSC Eligibility Criteria: Educational Qualification & Physical Fitness
On the basis of minimum educational qualification, we have classified the SSC Exams into three categories which are Class 10th level, Class 12th level, and graduation.
SSC CGL Eligibility Criteria: Educational Qualification (as of 08-10-2022)
The table below states the post-wise minimum educational qualification for SSC CGL Exam:

SSC CPO Eligibility Criteria: Educational Qualification
- Candidates should have a bachelor’s degree from a recognized university or institute
- Also, candidates who have completed their degree or diploma from an open or distance learning mode of education are eligible to apply
SSC CPO Eligibility Criteria: Additional Qualification for Delhi Police
- Candidates to apply for the post of Sub Inspector in Delhi Police should possess a valid Driving License for LMV (Motorcycle and Car) on or before Physical Endurance and Measurement Tests
- Candidates who do not have a valid Driving License for LMV (both Motorcycle and Car) are eligible for all other posts including SI/ ASI in CISF, SSB, BSF, ITBP, CRPF
SSC CPO Eligibility Criteria: Physical Standard Test (PST)
The PST is common and compulsory for all candidates who have qualified for the Paper 1 exam. The eligibility criteria for PST is mentioned below:

SSC CPO Eligibility Criteria: Physical Endurance Test (PET)
Physical Endurance Test consists of a list of tasks that the candidate must finish qualifying for the next stage. Here is the list of all such tasks:

SSC CHSL Eligibility Criteria: Educational Qualification
Candidates who are going to appear in Class 12 are also eligible to apply provided they must furnish the necessary documents on or before January 01, 2022. Candidates should fulfil the below-mentioned eligibility criteria as of January 01, 2022 for Age limit:
For Data Entry Operator (DEO) in Office of Comptroller and Auditor General of India (C&AG): Candidates need to have passed Class 12 in Science stream with Mathematics as a subject from a recognized board or university (As on 04-01-2023).

SSC Stenographer Eligibility Criteria: Educational Qualification
Candidates should have completed Class 12 or equivalent from a recognized board or university to be eligible for SSC Stenographer Exam.

SSC Delhi Police Constable Eligibility Criteria: Educational Qualification
Candidates to be eligible for Delhi Police Constable should have passed Class 12 from a recognized board or university. Male candidates should possess a valid Driving License for LMV (Motorcycle & Car) on or before the date of PET & PMT. The age is relaxable up to 11th pass only for the following candidates:
- Bandsmen, mounted constables, buglers, constables, drivers, dispatch riders, etc.
- Sons of serving, deceased, retired police personnel including multi-tasking staff of Delhi Police

SSC MTS Eligibility Criteria: Educational Qualification
Candidates should have passed Class 10 or equivalent from a recognized board.
SSC GD Constable Eligibility Criteria: Educational Qualification
Candidates should have passed Class 10 from a recognized board as on the specified date mentioned by the SSC board.

RRB Group D Eligibility Criteria: Education Qualification
Candidates, in order to apply for RRB Group D, should fulfil the following eligibility criteria:
- Passed Class 10th from a recognized board (Candidates waiting for the final examination of the prescribed minimum educational qualification should not apply) OR
- ITI degree or diploma (Diploma/ Degree in Engineering will not be accepted instead of the course complete Act Apprenticeship/ ITI)
