  • Zonal Offices: Ahmadabad, Bangalore, Chandigarh, Chennai, Kochi, Delhi, Panaji, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Jalandhar, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai, Patna, Srinagar

Note: Zonal offices are headed by Joint Directors of the Enforcement department.

  • Sub-Zonal Offices: Bhubaneshwar, Kochi, Vishakapatnam, Kozhikode, Indore, Madurai, Nagpur, Allahabad, Raipur, Dehradun, Ranchi, Surat, Shimla, Jammu

Note: Sub–Zonal offices are headed by Deputy Directors of the Enforcement Department.

Work Timings: As an Assistant Enforcement Officer, you will be having normal office timings. Also, on raid or search, you may have to work for a long and uncertain duration.

Transfer: Yes, it is. But you don’t need to worry about the transfers because there are only a limited number of offices and they are situated in national and state capitals. So, you need not worry about a transfer to a remote area. Generally, after a transfer, you will not be disturbed for the next 3 years. That means you get to stay in a place for at least 3 years at a stretch.

Social status: It is not a uniform job but still it generates an amount of social respect. Better the post (after promotion) more will be the power, as the Enforcement Department deals with a lot of money and important people.

Assistant Enforcement Officer through SSC CGL is Group B gazetted position under the Indian government. AEO Pay Scale and Allowances

According to the rules of the 7th pay commission, an assistant enforcement officer is compensated. SSC CGL AEO post falls under the grade pay 7 category and pay scale for this position is (Rs. 44900 to 142400).

Assistant Enforcement Officer is entitled to the following additional allowances other than salary

  • DA on Total Salary Above (about 38%)
  • Transport Compensation
  • Renter’s Assistance (if not provided with quarters)
  • gasoline allowance
  • Limited mobile bill
  • According to the existing pay scales, your starting income would be about 40,000 per month ( can be varied a little as per place of posting)

How to become Assistant Enforcement Officer in ED?

Candidates can join Enforcement Directorate (ED) as an Assistant Enforcement Officer through the SSC CGL exam. The Staff Selection Commission holds the Combined Graduate Level exam to choose individuals who fit the post of SSC AEO.

The commission has amended the SSC CGL selection process, and it will now be carried out in two tiers, Tier 1 and Tier 2.
