  • Global family day is celebrated across the world with people to promote peace and sharing

4th January

  • This day is celebrated by United Nations to raise awareness among the people for Braille as an important means of communication for blind people
  • It is also the day when Louis Braille, the braille inventor, was born.

6th January

  • It is observed as world war orphan day by the French organization
  • This day is observed to create sensitivity among all towards the plight of orphans during world war.

9th January

  • It is celebrated as Pravasi Bharatiya Divas and recognizes the contribution made by the Indian community overseas.
  • This day is also celebrated as Guru Gobind Singh Jayanti. 

10th January

  • It is celebrated as World Hindi Day. It was started by the Government of India to promote the Hindi language at the global level.
  • The first World Hindi Conference was chaired by PM Indira Gandhi in the year 1975.

23rd January 

  • It is observed as Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Birth Anniversary. It was initiated by the government of India to remember and pay respect to his defiant patriotism.

24th January

  • National Girl Child Day– It is initiated by the Ministry of Women and child development to raise awareness among the people around the rights of girls.
  • This day is also celebrated as International Day of Education.

25th January

  • It is observed as National Voters Day and National Tourism Day.
  • National voters day is celebrated to raise awareness among the people around the power of voting and encourage them to contribute to the political process

26th January 

  • It is observed as Republic day. This is the day when the constitution of India came into effect.
  • This day is also celebrated as  International Customs Day. 

28th January 

  • It is celebrated worldwide as Data protection day to raise awareness among the people regarding data privacy and its protection practices.
  • This day is also celebrated as the birth anniversary of freedom fighter Lala Lajpat Rai.

30th January 

  • It is seen as National Martyr’s Day to pay honour and respect to those soldiers who laid their life for the nation.
  • It is also celebrated worldwide as World Leprosy Eradication day to raise awareness around Leprosy also known as Hansen’s Disease.
