SSC MTS Tier 2 Preparation for Letter Writing

Analyze your situation: The key to excel in this section is based on the fact that you know how good you are on the basis of your writing skills. If your basic writing skills are good then not much time will be required however if your basics are weak then a lot of practice and writing is required in order to prepare.

What if my writing skills are poor: Candidates need to start from the basics by working on their grammar and vocabulary. Vocabulary can be improved by daily reading habits. Consider a newspaper or a novel to work on your vocabulary and make a habit of writing 5 new words daily. For grammar refer to any good publication grammar book.

For SSC MTS Tier 2 preparation, try to write at least one letter on any topic daily and while writing, try to work on your writing skills.

What if my writing skills are good: 

If candidates have a good command of grammar and vocabulary then they can proceed to work on the format of the letter as this is one of the things checked by the examiner. Your basics might be good but still, practice is required. While writing, try to focus on the objective of the letter you are writing. Consider taking the mocks test.

Work on the Format

Any writing sample can gain a good impression if the introduction is good enough and after that, you need to make sure that you include the following things in your essay:

Pick the Right Topics: The person analyzing your essay will be a government official, so make sure that the topics on which you write can be related to the government or any government policies or related to the country. Government schemes can be the first option.

Newspaper Editorial: Candidates while doing SSC MTS Tier 2 preparation should make a daily habit to read the editorial part of the newspaper from which they can improve their vocabulary and also become aware of the current situation and the views of people nowadays.
