1. Opening Sentence
This is the area that if covered intelligently boosts your confidence and will to get the question right. In most of the simple para jumbles, we just need to identify the opening sentence and eliminate the rest of the options. Now the question arises, ‘What to look for in the opening sentence?’. Well, the answer is simple. You need to look for the main subject like a person, monument, animal on which the entire paragraph is based upon. This also sets out a base for a noun-pronoun relationship. The noun will come first in the sentence and upon rearrangement, the pronoun will follow. Let us understand it using an example.

Q. Today they are a relatively rare species.
R. The lion used to be very widely distributed in Africa and Asia.
S. Indiscriminate killing by hunters has been the cause of this drastic fall in their numbers.
In all the sentences given in the question, the noun is introduced in R and is replaced by pronouns like they, their, it, etc, in the remaining sentences. The noun will come first as the subject is introduced and forms the opening sentence here.
2. Cause-Result Relationship
Look for the cause or reason for a problem given in the paragraph and its subsequent effect. Words like if and then, If, When, and then, Whenever, etc are some of the indicators to help you identify the cause-and-effect relationship in the sentences. The cause comes first in the sentence and the result comes much later.

3. Abbreviations & Full forms
This is one of the easiest areas to identify or look for. If the jumbled paragraphs are lengthy then do not get demotivated there may be an abbreviation in disguise waiting for you to identify. Abbreviations do not come first in the sentence instead they are first introduced into the sentence with their extended form and later changed into acronyms in subsequent sentences.

5. Question-Answer Pair
There may be a problem in which you are asked a question which forms the opening part or the central part of the sentence. The solution will be given in the sentences to follow. Now, in such cases, you cannot put the cart before the horse. In simple words, the solution will come after the question.
6. Look for a Closing Sentence
A closing sentence usually summarises the entire paragraph. It could be a solution to a problem, a suggestion, or a question that arises. Words like In conclusion, As a result, Thus, Finally, Lastly, For this reason, In general, As expressed, Overall, Therefore, etc will help you in identifying the conclusion sentence.
