RRB ALP CBT 3 2019: Computer Based Aptitude/ Psycho Test Details

RRB ALP CBT 3 2019: The Railways Recruitment Board has conducted Stage II to recruit 64000+ eligible candidates for the post of Assistant Loco Pilot & Technician (10+2). Students who will score above the Stage II Cut off (set by RRB) will be called for next round.
The Aptitude Test is scheduled on 10th May 2019 in three shifts. The duration of Aptitude Test is 71 Minutes.

RRB ALP CBT 3 2019: Computer Based Aptitude Test Details
The selection of candidates for CBT 3 will be done on the basis of their performance in Part A & Part B. As per the official ALP/ Technician notification, candidates equal to 8 times number of ALP vacancies for each of the communities i.e. UR, OBC-NCL, SC and ST (including ExSM) will be shortlisted for Stage III Aptitude Test.
Please note that the Computer Based Aptitude Test is for the candidates who have applied for Assistant Loco Pilot. There will not be any Aptitude Test for Technician post.
- RRB’s Aptitude will contain several test batteries.
- There will not be any negative marking in the Aptitude Test.
- It is necessary to qualify Aptitude test to get shortlisted for further rounds.
- A candidate needs to secure a minimum score of 42 marks in each of the test batteries to qualify.
- This test is applicable to all candidates and no relaxation is permissible.
- The final merit list will include 70% marks & 30% marks obtained by a candidate in Part A of Stage II & Aptitude Test respectively.
Candidates appearing for Aptitude Test have to carry Vision Certificate in original during test, failing which they will not be permitted to appear for the Computer Based AT. The prescribed format is given at the end of this article.
Why Aptitude Test in RRB ALP CBT 3 2019?
The aptitude test has been designed by Railways Recruitment Board for different categories of the job. This test helps RRB to choose the right people suitable for a particular kind of job & helps to decide if someone has the abilities and personality traits needed to do the job. Candidates who perform well in the test usually also do well on the field. This test is designed in such a way that it gives the board a real measure of a candidate’s strengths and limitations.
Question Pattern, Types, and other details of Aptitude Test

Memory Test
In this test, you will be given a map/ picture/ Questions to study and memorize buildings/ numbers/ Answers or other structures on it for some time, and then you will be asked to indicate their location on a test page. Study the following example for some duration. Examples:

- Following Directions Test: In this test, you will be given a pattern of letters to look at and will be asked questions about how certain directions will change in that pattern. The answer to each question will be one of the letters in the pattern. You are to decide which letter shows the correct answer. To get more types, click here

Test for measuring your Depth Perception
In this test, you will see a pile of bricks with some bricks numbered A, B, C, etc. Your task is to count the number of bricks that are touching bricks of the pile that has a letter on it. All bricks are of the same size and shape.
For example, in the pile above the brick with an ‘A’ on it touches three other bricks, viz., ‘D’ and two other bricks. Brick B, C, and D touch 5, 4 and 2 bricks respectively.
- Test for measuring your Concentration:
This is a test to find out how quickly you can compare two numbers and decide whether or not they are the same. If the numbers are the same, choose option ‘Y’ otherwise choose ‘N’. Try to solve the following practice problems.
1. 589 = 589
2. 2768 = 2786
3. 36463 = 36462
4. 712963 = 712963
5. 487562 = 487652The answer to the above questions is ‘Y’, ‘N’, ‘N’, ‘Y’ and ‘N’ respectively.
Test for measuring your Perceptual Speed
This is a test of how rapidly and accurately you can see objects in order to match them. Look at the first Bus at the left. Which one of the five at the right is most nearly like it? Bus ‘C’ is the one.
Look at the second Bus at the left. Which Bus at the right is most nearly like it? Bus ‘D’ is the correct answer. Now find most nearly matching the third and fourth ones at the left. You will find that the correct answer of Bus No.3 is ‘A’ and that fourth is ‘B’.

WHAT CAN YOU DO TO GET HIGHER SCORES?
Before the Session
- Don’t stay up all night. Make sure you get a good night’s sleep.
- Give yourself plenty of time to get to the session so you don’t have to rush.
At the Session
- Listen carefully to the instructions.
- Do exactly as you are told.
- Don’t be afraid to ask questions.
- Think about each question before answering.
- Work quickly and accurately, as most tests have short time limits.
- Don’t waste time on difficult questions.
- Try as hard as you can. The more questions you get right, the higher your score will be.
- Do not try to copy the answers of your neighbor as his question booklet may be different from you.
Aptitude Test Qualifying Marks
