So, is it possible for working professionals to prepare for and pass the SSC CGL?
Yes, studying while working a 9 to 5 job is difficult, but it is feasible and possible to prepare for and pass the SSC CGL examination with a systematic study plan and proper time management.

In this article, we are going to cover study tips for working professionals so that they can easily clear the SSC CGL 2023 Exam.

Tips to Prepare SSC CGL For Working Professionals

Preparing for the SSC CGL while working requires commitment and discipline – Working for 9 hours or more and travelling to and from work consumes all of one’s time, leaving no time to eat or sleep; however, aspirants for the SSC CGL examination must manage and compress their time in other work so that they can squeeze out at least 4 hours daily for dedicated exam study.

Following are some useful tips for preparing for the SSC CGL examination while working:

Morning Study Time

The time between 4:30 and 5:30 a.m. is known as Brahma Muhurtha in Hindu mythology. Whatever you practise at this time will provide you with more benefits and will keep you stable for a long time. As a result, we recommend that you get up early in the morning between these time slots and study for at least 2 hours.  Because most jobs begin at 10 a.m., get up between 4:30 and 5:30 a.m. to give yourself at least two hours to study. Practice English Comprehension topics and study General Awareness during this time. This is the best time to learn new things because it stays in the memory for a longer period of time.

Evening Study Time

As previously stated, dedication is required to achieve the desired result. Make it a habit not to sleep without studying. After finishing work after 7 p.m., devote two hours to studying, i.e. from 9 p.m. to 11 p.m. Schedule this time to study reasoning and quantitative aptitude.

Make the most of weekends

Weekends are a gift for your planning. In these two days, study as much as you can. Make a weekly plan and finish 3-4 topics from the SSC CGL syllabus. These topics must be prepared in such a way that you can efficiently grasp all of the related concepts and ensure that you will not need to revise them in the future.

Examine yourself

If you began your preparation after a long break, we recommend that you first assess your retained knowledge or aptitude in all subjects. Mock tests, previous year question papers, and online quizzes are excellent tools for demonstrating your competitiveness. You will now be aware of your preparation’s strong and weak points, allowing you to plan accordingly.

What Else Should You Follow?

Weekend Coaching Classes

Because the SSC changed its examination pattern as a result, there will be stiff competition, and the level of the question paper will be different as well. It is extremely difficult to prepare study notes, collect practise material, learn shortcut tricks, build concepts, and clear doubts while working full-time. In this case, we recommend that you attend coaching classes on weekends and weekdays if possible. Most candidates believe that enrolling in a coaching class is a waste of time because the fees are much higher and the majority of the study time is wasted. It is entirely up to you and your ability to maintain your preparation.

In-Between Time Study

As we all know, private sector jobs are always hectic and time-consuming. As a result, it is critical to assess the overall nature of your current job and determine when you have extra time for yourself. It could be lunchtime, coffee time, or event time. To make the most of this valuable time, we recommend that you download some useful apps such as BYJU’S Exam Prep. You can find test material ranging from easy to difficult here. On average, you can complete two quizzes on different topics in 30 minutes. This app are accessible while travelling or sitting anywhere else. You can concentrate on English at this time.

Prepare Scoring Topics First

As a working professional, it is advisable to determine the most scoring subjects and topics, which will assist you in gaining maximum marks with minimal effort. Mensuration, Algebra, Trigonometry, and Geometry are the four topics that are very scoring in the Quant section because they are asked in the most number of questions and take the most time to solve. Other priorities include profit and loss, simple and compound interest, and time and work, which are of a very simple nature and take very little time. Learn shortcut techniques to save time for other sections.

Every chapter in the Quant section contains some questions that are repeated on a regular basis. You might be thinking about other sections’ shortcuts right now. We want to be clear that other sections do not have shortcut tricks with our permission. You must conduct extensive research and clarify the types of questions that are frequently asked. You should practise and study as much as possible.

Positive approach

Don’t let internal and external factors demotivate you. Always be upbeat and cheerful in your preparation. If you feel stressed or tired during your preparation, keep calm and focus on your goal. Internal factors such as other better career options, poor health, poor academic records, and so on mostly deviate students.
