Largest and Smallest States of India 2021: India currently has 28 states and 8 union territories. It is the seventh-largest nation in the world in terms of size (3.287 million km2) and the world’s second-most populated country after China. India has 17.5 percent of the world’s population and occupies 2.4 percent of the world’s land area. New Delhi is India’s capital. This article focuses on India’s smallest and largest states / UTs in terms of land and population.
