Current World Population
The current population of the world is about to reach the 8 billion mark. Earlier, the estimated world population in 1950 was 2.6 billion people. In 1987, it hit 5 billion, and in 1999, it hit 6 billion. The world’s population crossed 7 billion people in October 2011.
The population of the world is projected to rise by 2 billion people during the next 30 years, from 7.7 billion people today to 9.7 billion in 2050, with a potential peak of approximately 11 billion people around the year 2100. we have mentioned some facts about Population Pyramids.
Population Pyramids
Three different kinds of population pyramids exist (A) Expansive Pyramid (B) Constrictive Pyramid (C) Stable Pyramid.
Expansive Pyramid- It has a triangle design, and each age group shows a bar that is shorter than the one before it.
Constrictive Pyramid – The younger age group has slightly decreased, making it the opposite of an expansive pyramid. A large population of senior persons is indicated by a higher life expectancy and better living conditions.
Stable Pyramid – The fact that it is rectangular suggests that there is an equal distribution of persons in all age categories.
