New Books & Authors 

1. Book titledThe making of India: The untold story of British Enterprises” authored by Kartar Lalvani


  • The book discusses the British rule and its role in creating a unified India.
  • The book supposedly brings out the many positive aspects of the colonial rule that remained hitherto untold.
  • The story of the book open in the 17th century when a small seafaring island despatched sailing ships over 11000 miles on a five-month trading journey in search of new opportunities.

2. Book titled ‘Blood on my Hands: Confessions of Staged Encounter authored by Kishlay Bhattacharjee 


  • The book came into news as Biju Janata Dal leader Tathagata Satpathy on 26 April 2016 demanded revocation of the controversial Armed Forces Special Powers Act (AFSPA) in the north-eastern region. He stated that the book, which is on India’s north-eastern region, serves as an eye-opener.

3. Book titledShashi Kapoor – the Householder, the Star‘ authored by Aseem Chhabra


Note: The book is the first biography of the veteran actor Shashi Kapoor.

4. Book titled ‘The Kiss of Life’ authored by Emraan Hashmi

Note: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on 8 April 2016 launched the book The Kiss of Life: How a superhero and my son defeated cancer in New Delhi.  Emraan Hashmi co-authored the book with author Bilal Siddiqi.

5.  Book titled ‘Anything But Khamosh: The Shatrughan Sinha Biography‘ authored by Bharathi S Pradhan

Note: The book describes film actor Shatrughan Sinha’s journey from Patna to Film Institute of India (now FTII) in Poona and his tryst with the celluloid in Mumbai.

  • A State in Denial – Pakistan’s Misguided and Dangerous Crusade authored by veteran journalist BG Verghese.
  • The book explores a subject of immense global significance of Pakistan and its relations with remaining World including India.

7. Book titled ‘No Time to Pause’ authored by – Pavithra Ramesh

Note: The book chronicles the life of a typical college student who decides to stay miles away from her family to get value education.

8. Book titledParam Vir: A War Diary’ authored by  – Manju Lodha


  • The book chronicles the lives of 21 Param Vir Chakra awardees, the highest military honour bestowed by India to those serving in the Indian armed forces.

  • The book is a cool love story between Shoola Pani, a popular film star on a self-imposed retreat up in the Anamalai Hills, and his landlady Lena Abraham.

12. Book titled ‘The Great Indian World Trip’  authored by – Tushar Agarwal


  • The book narrates the incredible journey of the author and his friend who beat all odds to live their dream of driving all around the world by car covering 90000 kms in 50 countries and 6 continents.

13. Book titled ‘The Life and Death of Adolf Hitler’ authored by – James Cross Giblin



  • James Cross Giblin (82), who is known for writing a biography of Adolf Hitler “The Life and Death of Adolf Hitler”, has recently passed away in United States. He was a highly skilled editor and a children’s book author.

14. Book titled ‘The Story of Kashmir through the Ages” authored by – Arjan Nath Chaku


  • The book “The Story of Kashmir through the Ages” has been authored by Arjan Nath Chaku and Inder K Chaku. Its’ a two volume encyclopedia on Kashmir, which was recently launched in New Delhi.

15. Book titled ‘India’s War: The Making of Modern South Asia 1939-1945’ authored by – Srinath Raghavan

16. Book titled “Framed As a Terrorist: My 14-Year Old Struggle to Prove My Innocence” authored by –  Mohammad Aamir Khan


  • Mohammad Aamir Khan is the author of a book titled “Framed As a Terrorist: My 14-Year Old Struggle to Prove My Innocence”.
  • It’s a story of author, who is from Delhi, who was proved innocent 14 years after being charged in 18 bomb blast cases. 

17. Book titled “Standing Guard— A year in Opposition”? authored by – P Chidambaram


  • Palaniappan Chidambaram is an Indian politician affiliated with the Indian National Congress and a former Union Minister of Finance of India.

18. Book titled “Gandhi: An Illustrated Biography” authored by – Pramod Kapoor



  • It is a biography of Mahatma Gandhi who played a key role in Indian independence movement.
  • The book is an intimate study into the evolution of a mischievous, fun-loving boy, into the Mahatma. It also seeks to decode Gandhi for modern generation.
  • The books covers all the important aspects of his life – schooling, early marriage in Kathiawar, his college days in London, employment in South Africa, train ride in Pietermaritzburg, etc.

  • Aishwaryaa Dhanush, an Indian film director and classical dancer, has penned her autobiography titled “Standing On An Apple Box”.
  • She is the daughter of legendary actor Rajinikanth and wife of Kollywood actor Dhanush.
  • The book has showcased her personal accounts, with moments and memories drawn from real life incidents.

22. Book titled “Who was Shivaji?” authored by – Govind Pansare


  • The book focuses on historic evidences which are mostly ignored or overshadowed by other historic adventures of Shivaji. It also provides a new perspective on a popular hero of Indian history, which is very important to understand the great personality of the King.

  • The book is the autobiography of the promoter of Essel/ Zee Group Subhash Chandra.

25. Book titled ‘Nathuram Godse – The Story of an Assassin’ – authored by Anup Ashok Sardesai
