Colour of the tag used on certified seed bags is blue. The colors to Breeder Seeds, Foundation Seeds and Certified Seeds tags are as follow: The tags on the breeder seeds are golden yellow. A white sticker is attached to the Foundation Seeds. The tags for the Registered seeds are purple. A blue sticker denotes seeds that are certified.

Blue Tag is Used on Certified Seed Bags 

In accordance with Section 5 of the Seeds Act of 1966, they are marked with a tag of a different color. Certified Seed bags will have only a blue colour tag. Apart from this, we have mentioned below few details of other seeds.

Breeder Seeds: According to the Department of Agriculture and Cooperation, Ministry of Agriculture, the offspring of the nucleus seed multiplied over a huge region.

Foundation Seed: The offspring of breeder seed generated by reputable public and private seed-generating organizations under the supervision of organizations to preserve seed standards.

Registered Seed: Registered seed is the offspring of foundation seed that has been handled in compliance with the requirements laid out for the specific crop being certified.

The tag on certified seed packs is blue in colour. The colour of tags is decided on the basis of the rules of the Seeds Act 1966. Apart from this, the tag color of breeder seeds is Yellow-brown, and the foundation seed tag color will be white only.
