SSC Exams 2020: Do's & Don'ts of Exam Preparation
Success depends on the things you do during the process of the journey. So you have to follow these do's and don'ts while preparing for SSC Exams:
Parameters | Do's | Don'ts |
Study Plan | Create a proper study plan and stick to it. | Don't study in an unstructured way |
Consistency |
Perseverance is important. Just remember the ocean is made out of drops. So study regularly and persistently, it will be fruitful in the long run |
Don't put the things for tomorrow. |
Divide & Rule | Give time to each and every subject on a daily basis, this will give you a commanding position in every subject. |
Studying a single subject might slow down your learning process. Also, it adds to boredom. |
Study Notes | Make your own study notes, this will help you in better retention. | Don't rely on someone else's study notes, make one for yourself. |
Study Material | Keep the booklist limited. | Do not refer more than 2 books for a subject. It will add to the clutter. |
Be Experimental | Make your study innovative and interesting with different study techniques, e.g. flashcards, flowcharts etc. | Don't follow others blindly |
Concepts | Learn Basics first, then move to short tricks. Make your own short tricks. |
Don't rush for Short-tricks without knowing the concepts well. Don't mug up the questions. A slight tweak in the question can prove to be disadvantageous. |
Regular Revision | Only studying is not enough. Revising the notes at regular intervals will help you perform better in the exams |
Do not leave things to be revised later. Revision should follow a cycle. Revise the content on the same day, after 3 days, after 7 days, after a month. |
Summarize | For the tougher chapters rely on the synopsis of the chapter which will prove to be beneficial for engaging in various revision sessions | Do not Read everything, again and again as it is time taking and brings less output. Instead, make points. |
Short-Breaks | Keep giving yourself small breaks. | Don't study continuously without breaks. Eventually, you won't be able to remember a thing in that case |
Practice | Start with the sectional test then move forward to Practising mock tests. | Don't indulge in practice mocks without gaining enough knowledge. It will dampen your confidence. |
Fitness | Do Yoga/ Freehands/ Bodyweight workouts/ Jogging, this will help you in focusing while studying. | Do not stress your eyes by engaging in movies or social media, or virtual gaming. |
