Can Final Year Students Apply for SSC CGL?

  • A Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university, or its equivalent, is the minimum educational requirement needed to be qualified to appear in the CGL Examination.
  • Candidates who are in their final year of graduation can apply for the SSC CGL exam provided they must possess a graduation certificate as on or before the specific mentioned in the SSC CGL notification.

Is Final Year Student Eligible for SSC CGL 2023?

Candidates who are in their final year of graduation program can apply for the SSC CGL 2022 exam provided they fulfill the following criteria:

Education Qualification: The minimum educational qualification needed to be qualified to appear in the CGL Examination is a Bachelor’s Degree from an authorised university or its equivalent. Candidates who are in their last year of their bachelor’s degree program are still eligible to apply for the SSC CGL exam, but they must have received their bachelor’s degree certificate by the deadline (last date) specified in the SSC CGL notice.

Age limit: There are different age limits required to apply for different posts as per the preference of the candidates. SSC CGL age limit criteria have been explained below along with the relaxation in the upper age limit. Candidates must fulfil the criteria as on or before the specified date mentioned in the SSC CGL notification.

SSC CGL Education Qualification

Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university, or its equivalent, is the minimum educational requirement needed to be qualified to appear in the CGL Examination as on or before the specified date mentioned in the SSC CGL recruitment notification. SSC CGL Age Limit

SSC has also provided relaxation in the upper age limit for the reserved category candidates such as OBC, ST, SC, PwBD etc.

SSC CGL Nationality

Candidates who are willing to apply for SSC CGL 2023 must be a resident of Indian territory with valid ID proof to substantiate it. However, the following candidates are also eligible for SSC Combined Graduate Level (CGL):

  • Tibetan refugee who moved to India before 1962, to settle down permanently in India.
  • A person of Indian origin who has moved from Pakistan, Burma, Uganda, Tanzania, Kenya, Sri Lanka, Zambia, Zaire, Ethiopia, and Vietnam with intention of settling down permanently in India.
  • The subject of Nepal or Bhutan.

SSC CGL Eligibility for Physical Fitness

SSC CGL Physical Efficiency Test and Physical & Medical Standard are the criteria specified by the Staff Selection Commission for some specific posts. As per the SSC Board, different physical fitness and standards are required for different posts.

NOTE: For the post of Inspector Central Excise, Examiner, and Preventive Officer, persons with disabilities need to meet the physical standards i.e. Height, Chest, and Weight prescribed for the post of Inspectors, Central Excise, Examiner and Preventive Officer in CBEC. However, for orthopedically disabled candidates the following relaxation in Physical Test is allowed:

(a) The test of “Walking” shall not be insisted in the case of OL and OAL categories

(b) The test of “Cycling” shall not be insisted in the case of OA, OL, and OAL categories
