SSC GD Exam Pattern 2023

SSC GD exam pattern is released by the exam conducting authority. It is the structure on which the question paper for the exam is based. It consists of the important information about the exam which candidates should know to prepare well. SSC GD exam pattern is released for different stages that a candidate must get through to get selected. The 3 main stages of the recruitment process are as follows:

  • Computer-Based Test (CBT)
  • Physical Efficiency Test (PET)
  • Physical Standards Test

SSC GD Exam Pattern for CBT

As per the revised SSC GD exam pattern, the CBT consists of 4 subjects which are - General Knowledge and General Awareness, General Intelligence and Reasoning, Elementary Mathematics, and English/ Hindi. The detailed paper pattern for SSC GD Tier 1 has been explained in the table below.

Here are a few important points about the SSC GD paper pattern that you must keep in mind:

  • The CBT consists of a total of 80 questions that are divided into 4 different sections.
  • Candidates will be given a total of 60 minutes to complete the test.
  • All questions are objective with multiple options.
  • There will be no provision for re-evaluation or re-checking of the scores. 
  • The questions and 4 options will be given in both English and Hindi language.

SSC GD Exam Pattern Negative Marking

One of the most common queries that candidates have is regarding the SSC GD Exam Pattern Negative Marking. According to the SSC GD Exam Pattern 2023, the exam will consist of negative marking as every wrong answer will result in the deduction of 0.25 marks. SSC GD Exam Pattern for Physical Test

After clearing the CBT, the next stage or tier in the recruitment process for SSC GD Constable are the Physical rounds. This includes a physical standard test (PST) as well as a physical efficiency test (PET) which will test the physical fitness of the candidates. These rounds are also a crucial part of the SSC GD Exam Pattern because the position requires the candidates to be physically fit and eligible to become a Police Constable.

SSC GD Physical Efficiency Test (PET)

Those who will qualify for the computer-based examination will be called by the commission to appear for the Physical Efficiency Test (PET) as per the SSC GD Exam Pattern. It will be conducted at various centres finalised by the CAPFs. It includes a race for the shortlisted candidates, and the parameters for the same are given below:

Candidates have to finish the race in the given time to clear this exam. A woman candidate, who is found to be pregnant of 12 weeks standing or over, shall be declared temporarily unfit and get disqualified at that round. 

SSC GD Physical Standards Test (PST)

After the PET, the shortlisted candidates will be called for a Physical Standards Test (PST) as per the SSC GD Exam Pattern. This stage will assess candidates on the basis of some physical parameters Like height, weight, and chest measurement.
