GATE ECE exam 2023 registration process has been made live by IIT Kanpur as they are the conducting authority this year. Authorities have released the live link for the application form for the GATE exam. The GATE ECE exam will be conducted on one of the following dates: 4, 5, 11, and 12 February 2023. The GATE ECE exam will be conducted on 4, 5, 11, and 12 February 2023. The registration process for the exam will start on 30 August 2022.

What is GATE ECE Exam 2023?

The GATE ECE exam is the yearly conducted exam for candidates planning to move forward in their career with the ECE branch by taking admission to IITs, NITs or other institutes or getting recruited in PSUs. The GATE ECE exam 2023 will be conducted in February 2023. The application process is started on 30 August 2022.

The result of the GATE ECE exam will be released on March 2023. The exam score will be valid for three years to get admission in the Post-Graduation courses and for PSU recruitment, it will be valid for 1-to 2 years. Let us learn more about the GATE exam for ECE in the coming sections.

GATE ECE Eligibility Criteria 2023

To appear for the GATE ECE exam 2023, every candidate must fulfill the eligibility criteria as per the notification. Candidates who wish to pursue examinations have to fulfill the basic eligibility criteria. IIT Kanpur will release the GATE ECE eligibility criteria in its official notification. Based on the previous year notification, we have provided you with the eligibility criteria. The eligibility criteria include details about the education qualification, age limit, and nationality criteria.

  • An applicant studying in the 3rd or higher years of any UG degree is eligible to appear for the GATE 2023 examination.
  • Also, Candidates who have completed any degree program in Engineering / Technology / Architecture / Science / Commerce / Arts are eligible to apply.
  • There is no upper age limit to appear for the GATE ECE 2023 examination.

GATE ECE Apply Online

GATE ECE application process started on 30 August 2022 after the release of the information brochure. Candidates will have to register in the GOAPS portal to start filling out the application form. The live link for the registration process is made available on the official website. To apply online for the GATE ECE exam, candidates must visit the GOAPS website.

To register on the website, candidates will use their Full Name, a valid e-mail address, mobile number, and a password of their choice. Afterwards, they must log in using the Enrollment ID and the chosen password. Then candidates can fill out the application form with all the required details. Further, they must upload the scanned documents, passport-size photographs, and signatures as per the specifications. Candidates will also need to pay the application fee based on their category.

GATE ECE Exam Pattern 2023

The GATE ECE exam pattern is mentioned below in detail. Candidates must go through it properly and understand the same before beginning their exam preparation. The GATE ECE exam 2023 will be conducted in an online mode and will carry a total of 100 marks with a total exam duration of 3 hours. The exam is a Computer Based Test (CBT) consisting of three kinds of questions, Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs), Multiple Select Questions (MSQs), and Numerical Answer Type (NATs) questions. Check out an overview of the GATE ECE exam pattern in the table provided below:

GATE ECE Selection Process 2023

The GATE ECE selection process 2023 begins with a computer-based test (CBT). The result comes in the form of a score that is valid for three years from the date of the announcement of the results for admission in Post Graduate Programs and valid for 1 to 2 years for recruitment in PSUs. The GATE scorecard will have all the details of the exam such as your raw score, cutoff, the validity of the GATE scorecard, your All India Rank, etc. 

After the GATE ECE exam 2023, the candidates have to go through the CCMT (Centralised Counseling for M.Tech/ M.Plan) process for admissions. As per the notification, the GATE score holds a weightage of 70% and 30% to the candidate’s performance in test/interview and/or academic record. GATE ECE Admit Card 2023

The GATE ECE admit card will be released in the month of January 2023, by the exam conducting authority (IIT Kanpur). Thus, the candidates who have applied successfully for the exam downloaded the GATE ECE admit card 2022 from the official GOAPS portal. The steps to download the GATE ECE exam admit card are as follows:

  • Visit the GOAPS, GATE official website.
  • Login using the Enrollment ID and password.
  • Download the GATE ECE admit card 2022.

The GATE ECE admit card 2022 includes information about the examination center, exam date and time.

GATE ECE Answer Key 2023

GATE ECE answer key 2023 will be released after the execution of the exam. Candidates who will appear for the exam will be able to download the GATE ECE answer key and in case of any discrepancy, candidates can even challenge them as well. The fee for challenging the answer key was Rs. 500 per question. The candidates were required to provide valid documentary proof of the correct answer as well. Upon validation of the objections raised by the candidates, the authorities will release the GATE ECE result 2023.

GATE Electronics & Communication Engineering Result 2023

GATE ECE result 2023 will be available on the official website in the last week of March 2023. Candidates will be able to download the result by entering their login credentials on the GOAPS portal. The GATE ECE cutoff marks will be released along with the result. Candidates will have to clear the cutoff marks in order to have a valid GATE ECE score.

The candidates who will obtain the required cutoff marks will be able to download the GATE scorecard 2023. The GATE ECE Result 2023 will contain scores, qualifying marks, All India Rank and more. Based on this result, candidates will be able to take admissions to M.Tech course and get offers for various PSU recruitments.

  • Yes, GATE Electronics and Communication exam will have negative marking only for selected type of questions. Only MCQ based question will carry negative marking. MSQ and NAT based questions will not have negative marking attached to it.
