Applicants who do not meet the required IES ECE eligibility conditions yet apply for the ESE IES ECE 2023 exam, the candidature of such candidates will be rejected during the selection process. However, candidates in their final years can apply for the exam, provided they produce the certificates during the ESE IES DAF.

ESE IES ECE Eligibility Criteria 2023 - Nationality

Each candidate has to fulfill the nationality as given below. Candidates must be a citizen of either:

  • A citizen of India, or
  • A subject of Nepal, or
  • A subject of Bhutan, or
  • An Indian-origin person who has migrated from Burma, Pakistan, the United Republic of Tanzania, Sri Lanka, or East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, and Ethiopia or Vietnam and permanently settled in India.
  • Tibetan refugee who came to India before January 1, 1962, and has settled permanently in India

Your candidature will be accepted only if you produce a certificate issued by the Government of India.

ESE IES ECE Eligibility Criteria 2023 - Age Limit

The age limit according to the ESE IES ECE eligibility criteria 2023 is between 21 years to 30 years as on 1 January 2023.

ESE ECE Eligibility Criteria 2023 - Educational Qualification

The UPSC ESE ECE 2023 eligibility criteria is as follows. Any One of the educational qualifications must have been obtained by you.

  • You must have obtained an Electronics Communication (ECE) Engineering degree from a recognized university.
  • You must have passed the Graduate Membership Examination of the Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers (India)
  • You must have passed Sections A and B of the Institution Examinations of the Institution of Engineers (India)
  • You must have obtained a Degree or Diploma in Engineering from a foreign university/college/institution and such university must be recognized by the government for the purpose from time to time
  • You must have passed Associate Membership Examination Parts II and III/Sections A and B of the Aeronautical Society of India
  • If you wish to apply for the Indian Naval Armament Service must have either M.Sc.degree or its equivalent with Wireless Communication Electronics, Radio Physics or Radio Engineering as a particular subject.

ESE ECE Medical Standards

  • You should be healthy while applying for the UPSC ESE ECE 2023 Exam.
  • The candidates who will be employed as Engineers in the UPSC ESE IES ECE will under medical tests.
  • The Ministry of Railways will conduct the medical test for UPSC ESE ECE.
  • If any candidate is found to be unfit for UPSC ESE ECE, then he or she will be disqualified.
  • Candidates belonging to the PwD category will have to produce the required documents whenever needed.
