• One Word Substitution
• Improvement of Sentences
• Active/ Passive Voice of Verbs
• Conversion into Direct/indirect narration
• Shuffling of sentence parts
• Shuffling of sentences in a passage
• Cloze passage & comprehension passages

Before jumping straight to the strategy part first let's figure out general tips that will be useful in your upcoming exam:

• Acquire complete knowledge of the syllabus and the exam pattern.
• Analyse yourself and make a study plan according to your preferences.
• Learn how to manage your time during the exam.
• Prepare handbooks/notes for last-minute revision.
• Solve easy questions first
• Give regular mock tests and practice previous years' papers.

Now you all know, that we have 90 days in hand. Let’s divide it into 60+30 for your good; 60 days for preparation and 30 days for revision.

Firstly, to make the 60 days most effective, make your goals in a daily, weekly & monthly pattern. Bigger goals may exhaust you.

• Study: Don’t leave anything behind. Study both the subjects simultaneously. Start with the topics you are most convenient with. It will boost your confidence and energy. Steadily move forward with the harder topics. Make a proper and strict schedule. Read a newspaper daily and thoroughly to help your language and comprehension development. Besides reading newspapers daily helps you get accustomed to current affairs and keeps you updated.
• Practice: Only studying won’t get you through. Practice makes a man perfect! Hence solve at least 2 mock tests each from both the subjects every week and cross-check them to know the sections you are lacking perfection. At this point in time, it is very important to estimate yourself properly. Know your weakness and work on them. You can solve the mocks in two ways. Firstly, according to the topics and secondly, according to the syllabus i.e. the full-length mocks. It will also increase your speed and accuracy.
• Mindset: The existence of only two subjects in an exam routine makes it easy and hard at the same time. You don’t need to use every cell of your brain on different subjects and different topics but you must stay focused and disciplined to master the language and quants equally. Don’t let any negative thoughts or people ruin your nimble mind’s motivation. Stay positive, stay enthusiastic. Always remember qualifying for Tier II is tough but not impossible.
• Relaxation: Try to spend some “me-time”. You must spare a little time to think about what you are studying. It clears the mind and things go in your head more easily. Keep giving yourself small breaks and spend some time with your family and friends. Just don’t be too harsh on yourself.

• It also helps in developing the quick-reading quality in you. Make your own mock passages from the newspaper articles and solve them for yourself. Analyze, understand and improve your performance with each passing day until the final day of the exam.

## SSC CGL Tier 2 Maths Preparation Strategy

• As for the Quantitative Aptitude, if you practise it with heart and soul, it is bound to come to you naturally. But, indeed, there are some tips to follow:

• All you need to rule this section is a good and thorough understanding of concepts and the ability to apply them instantly to the question asked. As long as you can apply the formulas and tricks at the right time, in the right way, you are safe and sound. Hence, it is important to go through the basic concepts and tricks in the very first place.

• Simplification/ Number System/HCF & LCM can be considered as one of the foundations of quants. Don’t take this too lightly as the simplest can prove to be trickiest at times. Also, it is also very effective to practise the “Time & Work” chapter by using the LCM method.

• Prepare the Algebra portion very well because it is the portion that is going to get you a good bunch of marks in less time.

• Practise Profit-Loss and Discount chapter along with their base chapter i.e. Percentage and Ratio.

• Learn tables up to 25 for better calculation.
• Last but not the least, do put the best of your efforts into the chapters of Geometry and Mensuration as most of the questions come from here only. But do not get worried about the heavy weightage of the portion. As you analyze the previous years' question papers you can clearly notice that the difficulty level varies from easy to moderate.

Some key topics to focus on:

1. Algebra
2. Geometry
3. Mensuration
4. Trigonometry

So, this was all you need to know to buckle up for the 60 days.

For the days left, i.e. a whole month or 30 days, you need to focus on your revision in detail.

• Never forget that even if history forgets to repeat itself, SSC always repeats questions. Hence, solving the previous year’s question papers is believed to be a solemn ritual to perform before facing the exam! Same rule to follow for Tier II.

• During the revision days, you must focus on solving the mock tests vigorously as the ‘studying and learning’ part must be over by then. Also, analyzing your test is equally important as taking it.

• Properly divide your time between the subjects and topics and try to solve as many full-length mocks as possible rather than topic-wise mocks.

• Time management is something that is to be taken care of from the very 1st day of your preparation but it should be at its peak when you are revising. Give yourself a tighter schedule, and work on the time very cautiously.

• Stay focused, take your self-analysis seriously and leave behind those “Zindagi Migzara” kind of attitude because this is the high time and you can do it.

For the post of Statistical Officer (SO) and Assistant Audit Officer (AAO), there are two other subjects asked in the Tier-II Examination i.e.,

• Statistics for SO
• Finance for AAO
