RRB ALP Syllabus is set and released by the Railway Recruitment Board of India along with the official notification for the exam. RRB ALP Syllabus 2022

The Railway Recruitment Board of India has formulated the RRB ALP Syllabus to screen the candidates for the recruitment of Assistant Loco Pilot and Technician posts. To crack the exam and attain a high score, applicants must be well-versed with the syllabus parameters and have a thorough understanding of the RRB ALP Exam pattern. RRB Exam Pattern for ALP and Technician

Since there are two different posts under RRB ALP, candidates must learn the exam patterns for these two exams. We have provided a blueprint that explains the RRB ALP Exam pattern for both exams. You can learn about the different stages that one must go through for recruitment for both these positions and the time given to complete the test. We have also explained certain pointers regarding both positions for the reference of the candidates below.

Important Points regarding RRB ALP Syllabus & Exam Pattern

Here are a few points you must keep in mind about the RRB ALP Syllabus and the exam pattern:

  • For the post of RRB ALP, the Exam will be conducted in three stages. First Stage Computer Based Test, Second Stage Computer-Based and Computer-Based Aptitude Test.
  • For the post of RRB Railway Technician, the exam will be conducted in 2 stages. First Stage CBT and Second Stage CBT. There will be no Aptitude test for RRB technicians.
  • The duration of the first stage of CBT will be 1 hour, and a total of 75 questions will be asked.
  • Marks of CBT-1 will not be included in the final merit list of RRB ALP.
  • The second stage of CBT will be conducted in two parts, Part A and Part B on the same day.
  • Marks of Second Stage CBT – Part A will be added to the merit list of RRB railway ALP & Technician.
  • Second Stage CBT – Part A will be conducted for 90 minutes, and a total of 100 questions will be asked.
  • CBT 2 – Part B is qualifying in nature and will be conducted for 60 minutes, a total of 75 questions will be asked.
  • Qualifying marks for Second Stage CBT are 35%.
  • In the case of RRB Locopilot, only those candidates who qualify for Second Stage CBT will be eligible for the Aptitude test.
  • In the case of RRB Technician, only those candidates who qualify for the second stage CBT will be eligible for documentation & medical test.
  • In the case of RRB ALP, candidates need to secure a minimum of 42 marks in each of the test batteries to qualify.
  • A negative marking of one-third marks is applicable to each question in CBT 1 and CBT 2.
  • There is no negative marking in the Aptitude test which is applicable only to RRB Railway Assistant Loco Pilot.
  • In the case of Assistant Loco Pilot, 70% weightage will be given to the marks obtained in Part A of second stage CBT while 30% weightage will be given to the marks obtained in the Aptitude Test which is computer-based.
  • In the case of RRB ALP, There will be documentation and medical test after stage 1, stage 2, and Aptitude tests.

RRB ALP Syllabus: Stage II CBT

Now, let’s take a look at the RRB ALP Syllabus for the second stage of CBT or the RRB ALP Mains and Technician Mains. Candidates must note that the syllabus of Prelims and Mains is the same for both RRB ALP and Technician posts except for the Basic Science subject. RRB ALP Syllabus for Technician Mains (Stage 2: Part B)

RRB ALP Syllabus for Computer Based Aptitude Test (CBAT)

The CBAT or the Computer-Based Aptitude Test will be conducted only for those candidates who apply for the RRB ALP position. There is no set RRB Syllabus for the CBAT exam as it is a test meant to test the intellect and computer knowledge of the candidates. However, there are a few pointers that candidates must keep in mind regarding the CBAT:

  • This stage does not include any negative marking.
  • No relaxations are permissible for this stage, which means all candidates will be judged equally.
  • Lastly, a candidate must score a minimum of 42 marks in each test to qualify for the next round.

Candidates who qualify for all the stages mentioned in the RRB ALP selection process will be sent for the document verification round where they must be ready with all the original documents.
