SSC JHT Eligibility 2022

To apply for the post of Junior Hindi Translator, candidates must understand and fulfil the SSC JHT Eligibility conditions. The eligibility criteria enlist requirements regarding the age limit, educational qualification, percentage of marks required, and even the nationality of the candidates. Hence, candidates must go through the SSC JHT Eligibility a few times to make sure that they are eligible to sit in the exam and join the recruitment process for the position. 

In case the candidate fails to meet any of the requirements listed under SSC JHT Eligibility, they will not be permitted to sit in the exam, and their candidature will be cancelled from the recruitment process. SSC JHT Eligibility 2022: Nationality

As per the SSC JHT Eligibility conditions, a candidate must be:

  • A citizen of India, or
  • A citizen of Bhutan, or
  • A citizen of Nepal, or
  • A Tibetan refugee who shifted to India before January 1, 1962, with the intention of permanently settling in India, or
  • A person of Indian origin (PIO) who migrated from Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Burma, or East African countries like Kenya, the United Republic of Tanzania (Formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Uganda, Zaire, Ethiopia, Malawi, Zambia, and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.
  • Furthermore, candidates who have shifted from the above-mentioned countries must possess a certificate of eligibility issued by the Government of India.

SSC JHT Age Limit

Another important condition under the SSC JHT age limit. Candidates applying for the post must fulfil the following age limit criteria for SSC JHT 2022

  • The minimum SSC JHT age limit is 18 years.
  • The maximum SSC JHT age limit is capped at 30 years which means that the candidate must not have been born before January 1, 1992, or later than January 1, 2004. However, the commission also provided age relaxation to the candidates belonging to the reserved categories.

SSC JHT Eligbility 2022: Age Relaxation

As per the norms of SSC, candidates belonging to the reserved categories can get age relaxations on the upper age limit specified under the SSC JHT Eligibility. Candidates can refer to the table below to get information regarding age relaxations.

SSC JHT Qualification

While checking the eligibility terms for any position, candidates must go through the educational qualifications required for that position. According to the SSC JHT Eligibility, the minimum educational qualification required from candidates are as follows:

  • Master’s degree in English with Hindi as an elective or compulsory subject or even as the medium of examination. 
  • Master’s degree in Hindi with English as an elective or compulsory subject or even as the medium of examination at the degree level. 
  • Master’s degree in any subject except Hindi or English with Hindi as the medium of examination and English as an elective or compulsory or even as the medium of an examination. 
  • Master’s degree in any subject except Hindi or English, with both Hindi and English as elective or compulsory subjects or either as a medium of exam and the other as a compulsory or elective subject at degree level.
  • Master’s degree in any subject except Hindi or English, with English as the medium of exam and Hindi as an elective or compulsory subject or even as the medium of exam at the degree level. 
  • Recognised Certificate or Diploma course in translation from Hindi to English or English to Hindi. 
  • 2 years of experience as a translator from English to Hindi and vice versa in a State or Central Government Office, including the Indian Government Undertaking.

SSC JHT Eligibility in Hindi

SSC JHT Eligibility FAQs

  • SSC JHT Eligibility 2022 includes certain parameters prescribed by the Staff Selection Commission that must be fulfilled by the SSC JHT aspirants. These parameters include nationality, age limit, and SSC JHT qualification which includes the educational requirements.

  • As per the SSC JHT Eligibility, candidates must have either completed their master’s degree in any subject or have completed a Diploma/certificate course in translation, or have 2 years of work experience as a translator from Hindi to English or vice versa.   • Candidates must be between the age window of 18 to 30 years to be eligible under the SSC JHT Eligibility. However, SSC also provides exemptions on the upper age limit to candidates belonging to reserved categories.

  • The Staff Selection Commission has not specified a fixed number of attempts for a candidate to pass the SSC JHT Exam. According to the SSC JHT Eligibility, candidates can keep taking the exam till they cross the specified age limit.

  • According to the SSC JHT Eligibility, candidates must have completed their post-graduation to be eligible for the recruitment process. Hence, a candidate who is yet to complete their graduation is not eligible for the position.
