• February 1: Indian Coast Guard Day

The month starts with celebrating the solemn motto “वयम् रक्षामः” of the India Coast guards to mark the foundation of the unit. It is going to be the 46^th Indian Coast Guard Day.

• February 2: World Wetlands Day

2^nd February is celebrated internationally as World Wetlands to remember the adoption of the Convention on Wetlands in Ramsar, Iran on 2 February 1971 and commemorated in 1997.

• February 2 to February 8: International Development Week

The 14th International Development Week (IDW) is well known to be celebrated from 2^nd February to 8^th February 2022 in North American countries. It informs regarding various roles and career ways within the international development sector.

• February 4

This year 4^th February is one of the most important dates of February 2022 as it has so much on the same date.

1. Surajkund Crafts Mela: Every year the Surajkund Crafts Mela is organized in Haryana near Delhi in order to promote the different Art forms and local handicrafts of Indian states. In 2022 it is going to be organized on 4^th February the theme state being Jammu and Kashmir.
2. World Cancer Day: Every year World Cancer Day is celebrated globally on 4^th February by WHO to aware individuals of Cancer and its remedies.
3. National Day of Sri Lanka: Another reason for 4^th February to be one of the most important dates of February 2022 is that on this day Sri Lanka celebrates its National Day as the day of Independence. In 1948 Sri Lanka freed itself from the rule of the British on this day.

• February 5 to February 13: Kala Ghoda Festival

• February 14: Valentine's Day

The whole world celebrates Valentine's Day to remember the remarkable martyrdom of a Catholic priest named Saint Valentine of Rome.

• February 18 to 27 February: Taj Mahotsav

The 10 day-long celebrations of consisting the cultural highlights of India is going to take place from 18^th February to 27^th February of 2022 in Agra.

• February 20

1. Foundation Day of Arunachal Pradesh: The people of Arunachal Pradesh observe 20^th February as the “foundation day” as on this day the province got it named and was included as a union territory.
2. World Social Justice Day: Internationally 20^th February is celebrated as the World Day of Social Justice with a view to drawing attention towards the role of social justice in the elimination of poverty and exclusion, through 100% employment and social integration.

• February 21: International Mother Tongue Day

21^st February has been marked as International Mother Tongue Day by UNESCO. The day is observed annually to promote the recognition of language and cultural diversity.
