General Queries:

1. I am preparing for Civil Services, should I prepare for SSC Exams also?
Ans: Why not? An aspirant of Civil Services can also prepare for SSC exams because after a change in pattern and syllabus of Civil Services in 2011 now you have to prepare Quantitative Aptitude, Reasoning, and unseen passages even for the civil services exam and all these sections are the part of SSC exams also. And GS is the part of the syllabus of both SSC and Civil services. So you should certainly prepare for SSC exam even when you are preparing for Civil Services.

2. What is the time required for preparing for SSC Exams?
Ans: If you are serious about the study and ready to dedicate 5 to 6 hours daily, then normally you may prepare the syllabus within 2 to 3 months. There are many students who got success within 3 months of preparation.

3. Need to join a coaching center for SSC exams?
Ans: If you are able to grab the things of your own, then, in my opinion, nothing is better than self-study. You can prepare on Gradeup app. I don’t think visiting a coaching center is necessary at all. There are many factors on the basis of which I’m saying that one needs to avoid going to a coaching center. A few of them are:

  • Loss of time as the time spent going to and fro could be utilized in self-study or what.
  • Physical tiredness
  • Monetary loss
  • Difficulty in finding good coaching institute.
