Minimum Educational Qualifications Required
- Jail Warder: 10+2 or equivalent from any board recognized by the government.
- Fireman: 10+2 or equivalent from any board recognized by the government.
- Constable (Horse Rider): 10+2 or equivalent from any board recognized by the government.
Age Bracket (As on 1st July 2018)
- Male Candidates: Candidate should not be born before 2nd July 1996 or after 1st July 2000. Minimum age is 18 years. Also, candidates should not have attained the age of 22 as on 1st July 2018.
- Women Candidates (Jail Warder): Candidate should not be born before 2nd July 1993 or after 1st July 2000. Minimum age is 18 years. Also, candidates should not have attained the age of 25 as on 1st July 2018.
Selection Process
The recruitment will be done in 4 stages by UP Police. Candidates are required to qualify all the stages in order to be shortlisted for their desired post. Students who fail to qualify any of the stages will not be eligible for the UP Police post.
Stage 1: Written Test
Stage 2: Physical Efficiency Test
Stage 3: Physical Measurement Test
Stage 4: Document Verification
Stage 1
A written test will be conducted to judge the basic knowledge of the candidate based on class 12th education. The exam will carry 300 marks. Paper will include General Knowledge, General Hindi, Numerical Ability & Reasoning Ability.
Stage 2
A physical efficiency test will be conducted to judge the physical strength of the candidates. Only the candidates qualifying the written test will be called for the physical efficiency test.
- 4.8 Km in 25 Minutes (Male)
- 2.4 Km in 14 Minutes (Female)
Stage 3
The candidates are required to fulfill the Physical Measurement Test (PMT) to be qualified for the final stage of selection. Below are the category-wise details for male & female candidates:

Stage 4
The final stage of selection is document verification. Candidate those who will qualify the all the stages above will then be called for the document verification. In this stage, candidates have to bring their original documents to match the information as given in the application form.
