This was Swami Ji message to get up and rise from the hypnotized state of mind. He says that one should first set his/ her goals (what he/ she wants to do in his/ her life), the goals should be clear, concise and action-oriented and be expressed in such a way that there can be little doubts about the specific outcome that is being sought. He further adds that one should not stop until he/ she achieves his/ her goals whatever the situation it is.
Swami Vivekananda Important Quotations For Aspirants and Students
Here are a few other important quotations of Swami Vivekananda and their meanings:
The Greatest Religion is to be true to your own nature. Have faith in yourself
Swami Ji says all power is within you; you can do anything and everything. Believe in that, do not believe that you are weak; do not believe that you are half-crazy lunatics, as most of us do nowadays. You can do anything and everything, without even the guidance of anyone. Stand up and express the divinity within you.
Strength is Life, Weakness is Death. Expansion is Life, Contraction is Death. Love is Life, Hatred is Death
Powerful people can do whatever they like. They are often considered morally right because of their strength only. They enjoy life as they are physically, mentally, socially and emotionally strong. Besides, they have strong will power and that is why they can scale great heights in life. So, it is rightly said that ‘Strength is Life’.
On the other hand, the weak have no place in the world. Weakness leads to all kinds of miseries. Weak-minded people do not possess strong will power. So, they cannot even dream of accomplishing great tasks. They lead a life like ordinary persons. Thus, there is no doubt that ‘Weakness is Death’.
Talk to Yourself once a day, otherwise, you may miss meeting an intelligent person in this world
Swami Ji says a good talk between you and yourself, helps in clarifying your thoughts and even lifting your mood. Self-talk is, quite simply, a running internal monologue about your feelings, your frustrations, your actions, your goals, your beliefs, your circumstances, your dreams and your nightmares.
Whether you’re living by yourself or living with others, you’re always living with yourself. So, don’t leave yourself out of the equation.
Anything that makes weak - physically, intellectually and spiritually, reject it as poison
Swami Ji says “Stand up, be bold, be strong. Take the whole responsibility on your shoulders, and know that you are the creator of your destiny. All the strength and succour you want is within yourself.”
The Great Secret of True Success, of True Happiness, is this: the man or woman who asks for no return, the perfectly unselfish person, is the most successful.
Swami Ji says that if you want to be successful in life you have to stop expecting from others and depending on others. When we expect anything from anyone and if it is not fulfilled we get disappointed, so, to avoid this we should not expect anything from anyone.
In a day, when you don’t come across any problems, you can be sure that you are travelling on the wrong path.
Swami Ji says when we do not encounter any problems in our life we are quite satisfied and we do not strive to improve. As you know as humans we have this tendency to learn mostly from our mistakes. So, whenever we face a problem that means there is something we don’t know and we have to find out a solution to it and in this process, we increase our learning which is really important in one’s life. So, if there is a problem there would definitely be a solution and it would be a learning experience and surely will be the right path.
In a conflict between the heart and the brain, follow your heart
Swami Ji says in a conflict between the heart and the brain, follow your heart as the brain doesn’t get inspired easily from others, whereas, heart, can get inspired and open up the new gates for options. And when you get inspiration, you explore and try more kinds of stuff.
Also, the brain is logical and heart is emotional and sometimes emotions work wonders in comparison to logics.
Take up one idea. Make that one idea your life; dream of it; think of it; live on that idea.
Swami Ji says to take up one idea, make that one idea your life; dream of it; think of it; live on that idea. Let the brain, the body, muscles, nerves, every part of your body be full of that idea, and just leave every other idea alone. This is the way to success, and this is the way great spiritual giants are produced.”
Be the servant while leading. Be unselfish. Have infinite patience, and success is yours.
Swami Ji says to have a fire within oneself and spread it to all people. Work, work and be a servant while leading, be unselfish, and never listen to one friend in private accusing another.
Swami Ji further adds that infinite patience, infinite purity, and infinite perseverance are the secret of success in a good cause.
You have to grow from the inside out. No one can teach you, no one can make you spiritual. There is no other teacher but your own soul.
Swami says that you have to grow from within, no one can teach you that, no one can make you spiritual. You have to be the teacher of own self.
As you know if an egg is broken from outside it is of no use except to make an omelette, however, it breaks from within then there is the advent of a life (chick).
