SSC Stenographer Eligibility Criteria 2022
The eligibility criteria for SSC Stenographer 2022 has been given below:
Nationality
- The candidates must hold Indian Citizenship
- A Subject of Nepal or Bhutan
- A Tibetan Refugee who came to India before 1st January 1962 with the intention of permanent settlement
- A Person of Indian Origin (PIO) who has migrated from Burma, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Vietnam or East African countries of Zaire, Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia, Ethiopia, Malawi, with the intention of permanent settlement in India
Note: Candidates belonging to the category 2, 3, 4 must have a certificate of eligibility issued by the Govt of India in their favor.
Educational Qualification (As on 5.09.2022)
You must be required to be at least 12th pass from a recognized Board or University.
Age Limit
(a) Stenographer Grade C: 18 to 30 years as on 01.01.2022, i.e., candidates born not before 02.01.1992 and not later than 01.01.2004 are eligible to apply.
(b) Stenographer Grade D: 18 to 27 years as on 01.01.2022, i.e., Candidates born not before 02.01.1995 and not later than 01.01.2004 are eligible to apply.
(c) Permissible relaxation in upper age limit as specified in Para-5 (a) and 5 (b) above and category codes for claiming age relaxation are as follows:

SSC Stenographer Selection Procedure 2022
The SSC Steno Exam is held in Online mode only for Grade C and Grade D. There are two stages of SSC Grade C and Grade D Examination:
- Stage 1: Computer Based Test (CBT) consisting of a written test.
- Stage 2: Shorthand Skill Test
You have to qualify both the stages of SSC Stenographer Exam 2022. The shorthand skill test is qualifying in nature. Hence, you will have to secure maximum marks in the CBT as the selection will be made on the basis of the written test.
SSC Stenographer Group C & D Exam Pattern
The SSC Stenographer CBT is the first stage of the selection process and is conducted in only online mode.
- There are three sections in the SSC Steno CBT: || General Intelligence and Reasoning, General Awareness and General English ||
- The question paper will be set in both English and Hindi except the General English paper.
- Out of the three sections, General Intelligence and Reasoning, General Awareness comprises of 50 questions of 50 marks each while General English is of 100 questions of 100 marks.
- All the questions are Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ’s).
- The duration of the test is 2 Hours and 2 hours 40 minutes for Visually Handicapped and Cerebral Palsy candidates.
- There is a negative marking of 0.25 marks for every incorrect answer.

SSC Stenographer Skill Test
The candidates who will secure the cut-off marks in the CBT will be eligible to appear for the Shorthand Skill Test. The candidates will be given one dictation for 10
minutes in English or Hindi (as opted by the candidates in the online Application Form) at the speed of 100 words per minute (w.p.m.) for the post of Stenographer Grade C and 80 w.p.m. for the post of Stenographer Grade D. The matter will have to be transcribed on computer. The transcription time is as follows:

SSC Stenographer Online Application Form 2022
I. Candidates can apply online from 20th August 2022.
II. Candidates will be required to register themselves online through SSC's website.
III. After registration candidates are required to pay the requisite application fee through online mode by using debit card/ credit card/Internet Banking.

SSC Stenographer Application Fees
You will be required to pay the application fee. The SSC stenographer Fee can be paid through BHIM UPI, Net Banking or by using Visa, Mastercard, Maestro, RuPay Credit or Debit card or in cash at SBI Branches by generating SBI Challan. The application fee for SSC Steno 2022 has been given below:

How to Apply Online for SSC Stenographer 2022 Exam?
Follow the steps given below to apply online for the SSC Stenographer Grade C and Grade D Recruitment 2022.
Step 1: Click on the link of Apply Link given on the page. The registration link will open up in the new window.
Step 2: Click on New Registration and then click on the register button.
Step 3: Firstly, candidates need to provide basic details like name, parents’ name, date of birth, email id, mobile number, etc.
Step 4: Click on the submit button to submit your completed online form of SSC Stenographer 2022. Verify your details before submitting the form. All the candidates will be issued Registration ID.
Step 5: Candidates are supposed to log in with the provided Registration ID, date of birth, and password to complete registration for SSC Stenographer 2022.
Step 6: In the next step, candidates must upload the photograph and signature following the requisites mentioned below:
Photograph – In the online Application Form, you have to upload the scanned colour passport size photograph in JPEG format (20 KB to 50 KB). The photograph should not be more than three months old from the date of publication of the Notice of Examination, and, the date on which the photograph has been taken should be clearly printed on the photograph. Applications without such date printed on the photograph will be rejected. Image dimension of the photograph should be about 3.5 cm (width) x 4.5 cm (height).
Signature (10 to 20 KB): Image dimension of the signature should be about 4.0 cm (width) x 2.0 cm (height). Applications with illegible/blurred signatures will be rejected.
Step 7: Log in with registered ID and password to fill up the Part-II of the online form of SSC Stenographer 2022
Step 8: After filling up the application form, candidates need to preview the entire application form of SSC Stenographer 2022 to look for any glitches in the form. Verify the entire data entered by you.
Step 9: Click on the Final Submit button after previewing the entire online SSC Stenographer 2022 application form. It is recommended that Candidates download and get print copies of the submitted application form of SSC Stenographer 2022.
Step 10: Lastly, candidates can advance to submit the application fee for SSC Stenographer 2022.
Note: Last date and time for submission of online applications are 05.09.2022 (2300 hours).
The window for Application Form Correction 07.09.2022 (2300 hours): After the closing date for receipt of online applications, the Commission will provide a period of 01 day to enable candidates to correct/modify online application parameters, wherein candidates will be allowed to re-submit applications after making requisite corrections/changes in the one-time registration/online application data as per their requirement.
